cover up when in kelantan!

oh gee, i’m having second thoughts of visiting kelantan now that i might have to wear long skirts/pants with long-sleeve blouses. well, that’s the dress code that PAS might enforce on non muslim women.

it’s a bid to “encourage women to dress appropriately” so says the kota bahru municipal council.

*sigh* here we go again – the talk of morality. who are they to judge for an indiviudal what kind of dressing is appropriate? any decent thinking people – muslim and non muslim – would know how to dress acordingly; no need a ‘moral police’ to tell them how to dress.

yes, like what mca state chairman, datuk dr fong chan onn said, “a dress code for non-mslim working women was not necessary as women know how to conduct themselves with
decorum in formal and informal settings.”

the MCA had asked PAS not to infringe on the rights of non-muslim.

at first this dress code thingy is suppose to be for women working in supermarkets only, but now they said it will be for ALL working women.

soon they (PAS) might extend it for visitors too.

oh damn! there goes my plan of packing some spaghetti strap t-shirts and hotpants when i do go to kelantan. must go and shop for long-sleeve tees/blouse now.
