malaysia – gangster state?

at my last post, ‘money, threats and bribes‘ i mentioned exco arumugam a few times. about him lodging police report that he was offered RM4 million to cross over to BN and was threatened when he refused.

well yesterday’s new was that he had quite his post as exco and also as assemblyman, paving the way for a by-election.

from malaysiakini:

Asked about the reasons for Arumugam’s resignation, Azizan said the former had mentioned about receiving threats to defect to Barisan Nasional. He added that Arumugam mentioned that he was offered RM5 million to crossover.

"I respect his stand in rejecting the RM5 million offer and according to the letter, he (Arumugam) had been receiving threats since March 2008 and fearing for his and his family’s safety, he took the decision to resign," he said.

[…]

He had recently complained that he was being threatened to defect from the Pakatan Rakyat-led state to BN.In more recent weeks, certain details of his personal life have been used against him to force him to step down as a state representative.

also don’t forget that at the time of the reporting, arumgam was missing. hmm… missing… just like the three frogs from perak who went missing? bala the PI who went missing?

‘threats to defect to barisan nasional’. ‘threatened to defect from pakatan rakyat led state to BN’. ‘went missing.’

BN is as i said the government – so that shows our country is run by gangsters? it’s so obvious! what arumugam revealed here and earlier of what another PKR repi revealed that he had been offered RM50m by the DPM. DPM, mind you! DPM of our country!

all this had came out so openly, so obvious, and yet those in BN can stil continue life as though nothing happened, can sleep peacefully, are not ashamed, none of them spoke up.gosh, they must be very ‘muka tebal’.

ong, in comments of my previous post mentioned that the MACC is supposed to go after those who try to bribe the reps but they never caught them. why? because these gangsters are working for BN?

ong also ended with this thought provoking question:

Voters are not supposed to receive money to cast their vote, according to the Election Offences Act 1948. However there is no equally explicit prohibition for politicians to receive cash or promises of offices to jump ship. Is this a deliberate ploy to allow politicians to do as they like?

well they should introduce the anti-hopping bill. if it is introduced, reps can’t jump and gangsters won’t be around to make offers!

of course apart from this issue of offering money and threatening exco reps, there are other aspects too where we witness/heard of how malaysia is turning into a gangster state – like when how the police and FRU acted towards protsters or ISA vigilers.

it’s sad, isn’t it. sad. malaysia is a doomed country. sad. 🙁
