blogathon, blog day, blog in space!!

1) i guess many of you have heard of blogathon 2005. when one sign up as a participant, one has to blog continously for 24 hours. when i first heard of it, i was not really interested because i made a mistake thinking the blog date is on a working day so i thought to myself no way then can i join in. however, after reading a post from suanie on the blogathon, i realise the date is 6 aug. which is a saturday! start on 9.00pm, 6 aug. to 9.00pm 7 aug. – saturday evening to sunday evening – non working day! when i found out about it, it was too late for me to join. well i can join but it would be too late for me to canvass for donations! so here i am just to promote blogathon. to know about malaysian bloggers who are participating, do read about it in peter tan’s post. support them, ok by pledging your donations.

2) we have international weblogers day, where for 2 years running, we had a penang bloggers meet, and also where, sadly not many people support the day. and now another person, nir ofir, had started ‘blog day’. 31 august or 31/8 (our independance day!) was chosen as blog day because ‘3108’ when scribbled in a certain way will spell ‘blog’. see the blog day button i have on the left column? you will notice ‘3108’ or ‘blog’ there. click on that button to go to the wiki page of blog day.

so what is one suppose to do on blog day? simple. every blogger will post a recommendation of 5 new blogs (in the same time), thus on that day bloggers and readers of blogs ‘find themselves leaping and discovering new, unknown blogs’ (quote from nir himself).

since i had missed blogathon, i guess i’d better make sure i join blog day.

OT talk: just change google adsense ads here below (medium rectangle). i notice it doesn’t appear properly in firefox but appears okay in IE. so can i have feedback please? how do you see it? in firefox i see only half of it, and looks like the old style ads – horizontal banner. strange that it doesn’t appears properly in my firefox browser.
