terrorists terrorising a peaceful commune

isn’t this an illegal gathering? why no action on them?

catcha.com used the word ‘assailants’. the star used ‘mob’; bernama used ‘masked robed people’; malaysiakini also used ‘assailants’ at first, and later ‘mob attack’.

note: if you are not a subscriber to malaysiakini, you won’t be able to read malaysiakini news, hence i’m pointing you to my favourite newsgroup, beritamalaysia’s post, of which there you can get to read news ALL news i mentioned above (catcha, star, bernama and of course malaysiakini).

assailants… mob… these people wore masks and were dressed in long robe (like an arab) and they were armed with machetes and molotov cocktails. they went on a rampage, torching structures and smashing vehicles and house windows. what were they doing? terrorising a peaceful commune!! call them terrorists!

hulu besut state assemblyperson nawi mohamad was asked by malaysiakini if any political party or government agency could have been behind the attack, and he replied that anything was possible but that he believed neighbouring
villagers may have taken it upon themselves to do this. and when pressed whether he condoned the mob action, he said it was wrong for anyone to take the law into their own hands BUT he said the mob people were villagers and villagers usually don’t care about the law and do what they feel is right.

really kah? but what they feel that was right, was wrong according to the law, so i hope they would be dealt with the law accordingly… unless if it is something more than what we thought… yes maybe some politcal party or gomen agency was behind the terrorising attack, then the police/authorties might close one eye to the law!!

ong, who had two posts on this issue here and here, in comments of my previoius post, stated that ‘them’ (maybe the politcal party or gomen agency) after having try all avenues to arrest ayah pin, failed, so resort to this underhand tactic to get him!

well, note that abdul hamid othman, the religious adviser to PM badawi, said that ayah pin was a threat to national security and should be detained.

“Of course he must be arrested because his influence will jeopardise not only religion but also political stability,” he said.

jeopardise religion? of course he meant jeopardise islam, i’m sure. oh and political stability too? huh? someone said in my earlier post on ayah pin, that in other countries, the gomen would just have dismissed ayah pin as a nut-case (in a ‘nice’ way, and leave him alone), so how can a nut-case jeopardise islam and politcal stability?

what about these people who took the law into their own hands and attack a peaceful commune, dressed in arab robes, mind you. now, with that they (the terrorists mob) did, i’m sure this news will go international. now that is what i call jeopardising our country’s image.

UPDATED: one of the foreign news from the independant: storm in a teacup

quote from the article:

“In another country, Pin, born Ariffin Mohammad, might be dismissed as an eccentric with grandiose notions. But in predominantly Muslim Malaysia, this elderly man is seen as a threat.”
