we all are ‘pendatang’ including umnoputera
more than a month ago, i had posted ‘the malays are not the original people of malaysia’, which was from a forwarded email. yesterday i again received another forwarded email, so since we are now in the light of the ahmad ismail hoo-haa, i feel it is appropriate to post it in my blog. read! also read my earlier post, if you haven’t yet.
——————————————————————
A small piece of History for our future Generation
Hitler’s public relations manager, Goebbels, once said,
‘ If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth. ‘
Once again our government wiped out any references to a famous Melaka prince as being Hindu and belonging to the powerful Hindu empire Sri Vijaya. So all of a sudden our museums, school text-books etc. all refer to Parameswara as a Malay prince.
What race ruled or did not rule is besides the point. What is important is not butchering history to create your own truths.
You cannot change your race even if you convert - Parameswara could have been responsible for Umno’s proud heritage of ‘ Ketuanan Melayu ‘.
If this is what it is based on, there is no ‘ Ketuanan Melayu ‘.
The lineage of Melaka Sultans are Indians, not Malays.
It is no secret that Parameswara was an Indian and a Hindu prince.
It is clear from records that Parameswara never converted to Islam.
He was an Indian Hindu who fled Palembang in Sumatra to eventually found Melaka circa 1400 AD. It was Sri Maharaja who converted himself and the court of Melaka to Islam, and as a result took on the name of Sultan Muhammad Shah sometime after 1435.
The most famous of Indian Hindu Kings were Rajaraja Chola and his son Rajendra Chola who invaded Southern Thailand, Kedah, Perak, Johor and Sumatra about 1000 AD.
This is Raja-raja Chola - the Indian/Hindu kings and not Raja Chulan
- a Malay king.
But what is really sad is that our children are taught as though Malaysian history suddenly began in 1400 with an Islamic Melaka.
We are led to believe that the Indians and Chinese first arrived on the shores of Malaysia in about 1850 as desperate indentured labourers, farmers and miners .
Nothing could be further from the truth.
The cultural influences of India in particular, and China, in South East Asia span over 2, 000 years, starting with the arrival from India of the Brahmanical prince/scholar - Aji Saka in Java in AD78, through to Vietnam, Cambodia (Indo China), Thailand, Burma, Indonesia, Bali, Borneo, Brunei and beyond.
The findings at Bujang Valley speak of an ancient Indian/Hindu presence in Kedah.
There were Chinese settlements in Pahang and Kelantan around the 13th
-14th century and in 12th century in Singapore .
The early Brunei Sultanate had a Chinese Queen.
One need not ponder at length the implications of Angkor Wat and Borobudur or that 40%-50% of Bahasa Malaysia comprises Sanskrit/Tamil words.
To illustrate, some of these words are :
bumi = boomi
putra = putran
raja = rajah
desa = thesam
syakti = sakthi
kolam = kulam
bahaya = abahya
jaya = jeya
maha = maha
aneka = aneha
nadi = naadi
kedai = kadai
mahligai = maaligai
mantra = manthrum
(This list can go on)
An extremely important archeological find that pointed to one of the greatest empires in history - the Raja Cholan empire that ruled from the Maldives through India , Sri Lanka and right down to South East Asia found deep in the jungles of Johor a few years ago and made headlines in the mainstream newspapers in 2005, suddenly disappeared from the news…. .
The time has arrived for us to record our history as the facts tell us and not as we would like to wish it for.
The truth will never hurt anyone. Lies, always will . Search for the TRUTH.

Ok, my friend you are not pendatang: Fair or not?
But how come you are not similar with the rest of us. You speak different language, have different schools, and cultures and living style.
Who had given you birth in this country. Orang Asli?. How come you are different from orang asli? They sing different song and don’t have chinese temples.
Ok, now let me know whether what you are saying above is the truth?, ask yourself and you don’t need to tell me your answer. Ok, if that is the truth, is it good for you to tell me and the member of public?, ok, if it is good is it useful for me to now?
I would say to all as No.

This is a surprise to you?? I guess you history is a damn so poor…go and study more on parameswara, raja chola, Srivijaya, Majapahit, Langkasuka, Demak etc etc…You might want to know who is Parameswara granny. Anyway your previous post on the same issue had made me laugh out loud…. (Not of the article…but the idea that it was simply posted by you without further study)
And please study on Proto and Negrito as well. So you shud have better say on “Pendatang”.

Well, Lucia, you don’t fall into their trap of playing racial card, whether we chinese are pendatang or not are not relevant anymore come 169, and we penang people will make sure those umno putera will be history forever in pearl of the orient. They can tear a thousand photo of Koh Tsu Khoon, but they can’t tear our spirit for change, change for a better tomorrow, change for a better goverment under YAB Lim Guan Eng (our HERO) and DSAI.
on September 9th, 2008 at 2:30 pm
Well, I just want to add some more that Koh Tsu Khoon deserved it because he was the umno running dog for so many years, and now umno found that this running dog is useless to them so they want to kick him out. Now he come out in open to criticise his master umno putera, at least is not too late for him to kick his master ass and joint Pakatan Rakyat as we penang people very forgiving.

Shaydflin’s comments are interesting.
Lucia is of Chinese descent.
Me, I am of Indian descent.
My forefathers first came here during the Choola times.
Then my grandmother’s Grandfather, a medical doctor was invited by the Sultan Of Perak to set up a hospital in Perak. My grandmother’s father was a Hospital Assistant at that hospital (generally treats small injuries, etc), whilst his brother went overseas and returned with a medical degree.
Meantime, my Grandfather was asked to come to Malaya to teach Math at VI in KL. My forefathers were here assisting in nation building not for any race in particular BUT FOR ALL RACES. My grandfather & my father taught English & Maths to many of the members of the various Royal families. Alas both of them are no more, but one of their students was our Agong and is now a Sultan.
But the former MB of Selangor, was born in Malaysia to an Indonesian father. He is considered a Malay, a Bumiputera, and a potential future Prime Minister.
Me, a pendatang. I may not dress like the majority population. But I eat similar food, I went to a SRJK & a SMJK, Culture & lifestyle is different, becoz I m not of the same religion with you. Culturally, your culture has absorbed a lot of the dances, the language, the bersanding ceremony, the literature, so my earlier comment was wrong. Culturally we have a lot in common.
More importantly I got very angry when I visited Kota Bharu & Kuala Trengganu for the first time last year. The road from Kuantan to KT was horrible. The road to KB was worse. The people were being kept in poverty by politicians who hoodwink the people saying that they are fighting for those people’s race & religion.
That’s a load of rubbish. Some of the people are well off. But the bulk of them are not, but being opiated by disgenious politicians. In this, I fault my party, Gerakan, I fault DAP and even PKR. We should have been there pushing for greater access. Gerakan being a multicultural party should have been in the forefront. Gerakan failed. I apologize for that, but to an extent the fear of ISA, and the incessant threats have managed to maintain the status quo.
Shay, & everyone else. We need to drop the racial stereotypes. Shay, u r moslem, Its written in your holy books, that there is no compulsion. U say ur religion is a religion of love & peace. So prove it. Let’s all agree to a peaceful (non-compulsion) Malaysia. No threats of violence. We are different, yet we are the same coz we are MALAYSIANS.
Let’s make this a NIKE moment, and JUST DO IT!

my grandchild za
i guess your understanding of english is poor.
what do you mean my history? i had mentioned in the earlier post and in this post, this is what i received from a forwarded mail. thus this is not my own work… so it is not my history. it is somebody’s else. and why should i make further study on the articles when i had mentioned explicitly that it was not mine? i posted it up so it is up to whoever wants to believe or not believe it. if it is my own creation, then only i will study and research.
oh your granny here is so happy that she made you laugh with the articles. get ready to laugh more, ok cucu?
pongsakling
good advice. yes i had stated already we should not play into ahmad’s hands. who cares if he and penang umno think i’m a pendatang or penumpang.
i agree with you too regarding KSK. he was nothing but a puppet to umno when he was the CM.
bob
