jom! let’s go egypt or nigeria for cheaper petrol
Post on Jun.05, 2008
what was it our gomen said about our petrol price being the cheapest (or one of the cheapest) in the asian region? really? why, if i go to iran or bahrain, i can get petrol for less than a ringgit!!
the 78 cents increase had been labeled by some as ‘killer tsunami’. (em… why they all like to use the word ‘tsunami’ one?).
yes, so much so, that we heard of massive traffic jams all over major towns last night immediately after the announcement of the petrol hike – because everyone were queuing at petrol stations to fill up their tanks!
bernama mentioned about the traffic jams, stating that in penang, the road most affected were perak road, argyl road, anson road and dato kramat road. well, at about 7.00pm when i was on my way home from office, i notice at macalister road (near the umno building) there was a long queue at the esso petrol station too. and when i travel on bus past weld quay, bukit jambul, bayan baru, also same thing. at bayan baru (near sunshine square), as the shell petrol station was near a t junction, the traffic jam was terrible! when the light was green, even though in front there were less than 10 vehicles, the bus can’t manage to move because the other side vehicles turning to the shell petrol station jammed up the junction!
these people were terrible lah – to fight with people for petrol, causing massive traffic jams everywhere. after all, they will be only saving up for this one time… not that this one filled up will last them a long time!

After declaring the increase will start on August 1, the Gomen suddenly imposes it immediately. This riles people up more, for sure.
Now watch for the rest of the rise-berg below this tip of it. The “fun” is about to begin.

Right on Lucia ! This is the kind of analysis that I applaud and support hands down and up !
Factual , concrete and no holds barred. The truth . Not lies and damned statistics ! The kind of critical thinking I have been trained for years !
We should now really walk like the Bersih Walk . I am ready , How about the rest ?
