don’t give up!
There was this museum laid with beautiful marble tiles, with a huge marble statue displayed in the middle of the lobby. Many people came from all over the world just to admire this beautiful marble statue.
One night, the marble tiles started talking to the marble statue. Marble tile: "Marble statue, it’s just not fair, it’s just not fair! why does everybody from all over the world come all the way here just to step on me while admiring you? Not fair!".
Marble statue: "My dear friend, marble tile. Do you still remember that we were actually from the same cave? "

a sea of red in KL
did you dress in a red top yesterday? i did. here (left) is a picture of me in my red top in my office yesterday. i had re-size the picture to very small because the original picture was not clear at all since it was taken by a colleague who is not used to taking picture with handphone, thus was a bit shaky. never mind, all the better as i really don’t want my face to be seen but only my red top to be seen! (and i had resize the picture to very small)
and below is a picture (taken from eli’s blog) of many people in red tops - burmese actually, part of about 2000 people, almost all dressed in red tops, who showed up for the protest at the burmese embassy in KL (or read about it here). they also walked to the russian and chinese embassy to protest, because these two countries are currently blocking the UN security council from taking firmer actions against the military junta.
it’s sad to see what the burmese people are going through under the power of the military junta. it had come to this stage that even monks and nuns had to come out, walk in protest… and the worst thing about it was that although the walk was a peaceful one, the soldiers showed little mercy in going after the unarmed and bare-footed monks.
Monks were set upon all day by squads of armed riot police in this
commercial capital of the country. Unmindful of the fact that it was a full moon day, and therefore sacred to Buddhists, many were beaten. Reports said at least four monks died due to injuries sustained during the clashes. Over 100 were arrested.
see? ‘they were beaten’.. and 4 monks were dead. these soldiers really have no mercy at all. how sad.
have you signed the petition yet, to show your solidarity with the burmese protesters? if no, please do it now.

feast of st vincent de paul

today, 27 sept, my blog anniversary, is also the feast of st vincent de paul. who the heck is he, you ask. yeah you wouldn’t know at all if you are not a catholic, so i guess this is going to be a ‘catholic’ post, so if you are not interested, do make a hasty retreat right now.
oh no, don’t retreat from me blog completely; i mean retreat from this post.
note: picture above shows the ‘feast-day’ card (both sides - pocket sized) prepared especially for the feast to distribute to people in church.

4 years of blogging
27 sept. 4 years ago i started blogging. yep, it’s me 4th anniversary of blogging today.
1st anniversary post part I and part II
2nd anniversary post
3rd anniversary post
1st and 2nd anniversary posts were imported from blogger blog (yep at that time i was using blogger), thus the comments had disappeared. i switched over to wordpress blog in april 2006.
nothing much to say because my mind is too preoccupied with nurin’s brutal murder and the ‘lingam tape’/judiciary issue.

makkal osai back on the newstand
missed out this news (that’s because i haven’t start to read sunday’s paper yet! i saw it at bob’s). about makkal osai which had been suspended for a month. like bob, i had the post asking for lifting of the suspension up as a sticky post for weeks and weeks and yet sadly, there was no lift. the one month suspension stayed. makkal osai will hit the streets on 25 sept.
i hope such double standards from the government won’t happen again. oops. this is like wishing for the moon to fall onto my lap, so forget it.. ![]()

Graft in Malaysia’s Defense Ministry
Mat Salleh
24 September 2007 Najib Tun Razak, Malaysia’s defense minister, finds a fountain of cash in military purchases
Despite the fact that the country’s borders have been largely secure for 40 years, Malaysia’s Defence Ministry has for decades been available to provide a river of money to defense ministers, the ruling United Malays National Organisation and any of the Sandhurst-educated generals who could get their hands into the till.

thank you, nazri…
… for confirming that the judiciary is not independent.
yep, the de facto law minister again put his food in his mouth when he declared "because i am his minister" when asked why did the CJ whispered to him his (CJ) denial that he was not the person involved in the lingam tape controversy.
way to go, nazri!
i guess many of us are already familiar with all the nonsense that spouts from the mouth of this minister in the prime minister department. if you had missed martin jalleh’s excellent piece on the nazri guy, go and read about it now. the stupid things that he said were all there.
