mainstream media & UMNO’s cyber war
Post on Jul.03, 2007
the ‘government official named najib razak‘ tells you that the mainstream media is still the best channel for the government to relay messages and information. haha. hahaha.
hahahaha… and it is also the best channel for the government to choose what NOT to relay.
"The alternative media, via blogsites, report many things that can be disputed because nobody knows the person behind the news. This is where the mainstream media is special," he said at the Defence Media Awards Night.
oic. we are not suppose to believe bloggers because they are anonymous (some). we should, we must, we have to, believe mainstream media…. because they are controlled by the government. neat.
on another note, have you heard that UMNO is all prepared to fight cyber war? (in view of the coming election). whoa! be afraid, bloggers, be afraid.
Earlier, in her speech when opening the Youth, Wanita and Puteri meetings, Azalina said certain websites appeared to be stepping up their attacks against the country’s leaders.
“We need to counter these blatant lies. If we remain quiet, our worry is that some of our members and civil servants will be influenced by all these nonsense,” she added.
Azalina said she was aware that many party members liked visiting certain websites and could end up believing what was posted there.
‘certain websites’ – is one of them yours? if yes, be afraid of the UMNO cyber patrol!
‘blatant lies’ and ‘nonsense’ in these certain websites eh. why are you afraid of your members being influenced by these certain websites? they are adults, they can think for themselves. if they choose to believe these so called nonsenses, it’s up to them.
btw, what happened to the information ministry idea of setting up a cyber patrol?

They can have a whole bunch of “Cyber” acronyms….and talk and talk and talk and more talk. Haven’t they noticed that the opposition party is even faster by having their own blogs? Talk about slow reaction times….they target wrongly too.

She and her ilks are simply frust because it now dawns upon them that they never managed to control minds despite all attempts through the lapdog media for half a century. They have only ended up believing their own lies until anything different has to be from another world.

What can they do if bloggers are merely reporting the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Heheheh, these fellas are finally awakening to the fact that their total control of the mainstream media isn’t sufficient to control the whole information agenda anymore.
Actually, I won’t be surprised if a limited campaign is already underway to counter certain blogs. There are always some anonymous commentators ready to post what looks suspiciously like the official party line….
But I don’t think Lucia’s blog has been targetted , yet…we’re all (almost) very polite here, even when we have disagreements.

Where in the mainstream media can we laugh our heads off at these two photos of the year awards? Had Tian Chua pasted George Bush’s cut-out in those photos, instead of the DPM’s, the US President would had laughed it off as a joke. But in this unholy land, the mainstream media is already clamouring for Tian Chua’s head
