i lost my phone :(
yes, stolen. picked from my <strike>handbag</strike>backpack. my carelessness again. more about this later. now i just want to post this to seek help – see if anyone knows how to block the phone. i had already phone maxis to block my sim card but i understand one can block the phone too, so that the phone can’t be use by the bl***y thief. yes i do have my phone imei no and serial no. oh and btw, do i need to make a police report? it’s a good phone – SE K610i, which i bought in singapore for about RM900, and i understand in malaysia about RM1200.
ok will update this post later.
UPDATED
this phone of mine (picture above) was bought in dec. last year when i was in singapore, which means to say it is only 4 months old! now ok how did it get lost? you see, i always carry along with me a backpack (which i bought in KL)where i dumped all my ‘rubbish’ in (including my RM1300 PDA!!).
as you can see from the picture of the backpack here (some other pics of the bag at the link above where i bought the bag), the zip is all round the bag and as i usually carry the backpack behind me, on my back, i suppose it is easy for people to unzip it and slowly take out anything from inside it. well that was what happened at last year’s PC fair when i lost my purse. you would think i learned my lesson from that incident. well er… yes at this year’s PC fair, i remember how i lost my purse and was careful not to carry it on my back… but silly me should not have done that (not to hang my bag at the back i mean) all the time, not only during PC fair. real stupid eh.
well this time my phone was stolen when i was on board the bus. the bus was damn packed. i had to stand and all round me were bodies pressing against me. all this while, i had my backpack hung behind me. i never thought for a moment, inside a bus, someone can be so bold as to unzip my bag and took my phone. i thought even if someone did, others might notice it and alerted me. i was being naive, i guess.
i suspected the phone was lost on board the bus because before i boarded the bus, i had took out the phone to set silent mode off and put it back inside my bag, then walked to the bus-stop. i was standing all the way from komtar to bkt. jambul, and when at bkt jambul, where lots of passengers got down, only then i had a seat. when i sat down, i notice the zip on my bag was partly open and i looked inside and horror!.. can’t find my phone! so it struck me! someone standing behind me in the bus must have taken my phone right from my bag.
as expectedl when i got home, i was given a lecture by my mum and sis (which i rightly deserved!) who said they had told me umpteenth time not to hang my back at the back esp. when in crowded area, and my sis said why i never learned from last year when my purse was picked from my bag the same way.
oh well, as this was the 2nd time it happened, i think i’m going to give up using the backpack. i need to look for a new sling back… a large one as i have so many rubbish to put in my bag. i will sling the back diagonally across my shoulder and let the bag fall on my front… so that i can keep an eye on it!!
i’m so sad i lost my phone which is just 4 months old… and it is a good phone too. now i have no money to buy a new phone. what to do? but i do need a phone! well, luckily my nephew had a spare phone lying around so i guess at the moment i have to use that phone of his – which i think is a very old model phone, no colour display! – but better than no phone at all.
anyone know of contests that offer handphone as a prize? 🙂
