away to a seaside resort
there will be no blogging from me for 2 days as i’ll be off to attend a 2 nights 3 days formation. the word ‘formation’ is simply a catholic term for seminar, conference or talk. by attending it it is suppose to ‘form’ you into a better person after what you have learned, hence the word ‘formation’.
this formation is organised by our society of st vincent de paul (diocese level) of which i am the secretary, therefore i am in the organizing committee. ater the formation we will be having our AGM. (btw, just to side-track a bit - next week, in our parish we are having anil netto from aliran as our speaker for another formation).
we have about 80 partcipants -about 30 from kedah and perak. i am in charge of registration (see, howsy, told ya i like registration) and food. further i have to run around taking photos (but i hope to delegate this job to someone else) because i am going to write about our formation/AGM to our catholic weekly, the herald (i am now a what you call ’stringer’ for herald, that is i write for them whenever there is some events/activities going on nearby my area.)
oh yeah where will the formation be held? at stella maris, the seaside holiday home of the catholic church. nce place with lovely view of the sea and direct private access to the sea. picture here shows a shot of the nice garden taken from a room in the block (partly hidden).
i’m going in on sunday afternoon and be back on tuesday afternoon. back to blogging on wednesday then. until then’ be good and take care. in the meantime if you haven’t sign up for the bloggers gathering yet please do so now. oh and don’t forget to register as a voter if you haven’t yet.

it’s your moral obligation to vote
believe it or not, i heard from a priest "it is a sin not to vote". true. why? well i guess it is because, as the heading here suggest, it is our moral obligation as a citizen, to vote, thus we have to fulfill our moral obligation. anyway, this is part of the ‘catechism of the catholic church‘ (official exposition of the teachings of the catholic church). see, nos 2239 - 2240 says:
Citizens must also contribute to the common good. This common good requires that a citizen fulfill his role in the community’s political life.

the rotten government
no, no, not i said it, please. point your finger at our ex PM, dr m. he was the one who used the word ‘rotten’ to describe the government at a malaysiakini interview.
(read from jeff’s post if you are not a subsriber)
“If you vote (BN) because you get a lot of money or because you get a lot of projects, you may get a rotten government which uses money in order to buy your vote.”
look who’s talking. rotten government? doesn’t he knows that the rot started during his time? during his tenure as PM, by-elections were also buy-elections in BN!

cyber patrol coming soon!
whoa! is this good news or bad news?
i’m talking about the ‘cyber media unit‘ to be set up by the information ministry soon.
The Information Ministry is to set up a cyber media section soon to counter misinformation on government policies posted on the Internet by irresponsible people and to disseminate the correct information to the public.
Deputy Information Minister Datuk Seri Chia Kwang Chye said today the move was mooted in view of the growing importance of the Internet as a powerful communication tool and especially in the wake of the technology being abused by some quarters to spread misinformation on subjects of national interest.

Mohd Anis Hisham B. Dato’ Abd Aziz
Exco Pergerakan Pemuda UMNO Malaysia
picture and above info (from a commenter) taken from jeff ooi’s blog.
my post ‘gangsterims in BN’ refers. at that time i dare not mentioned UMNO, but now it is confirmed those gangsters/hooligans are UMNO boys. so what say you, o son-in-law?
susan loone had an account of another violence that happened to khalid, the PKR candidate, while malaysiakini’s report can be read at its website, or if you are not a subsriber, read from beritaamalaysia.

a-joke buy election
update to my previous post.
that’s right. the ijok by election had turned into a joke with bribe, fights and gangsterism.
it’s buy election all the way for BN as they pour out millions to entice residents to vote for them.
well, it is certainly true of what terrence fernadez, the sun’s columnist wrote:
when votes are at stake, the government machinery suddenly becomes super efficient. heck, if that’s the case, no need for pemudah and 101 committees and sub-committees to improve the delivery system.
someone put it in a crude way. but which is absolutely correct of course:

BN group rough up khalid, blogger!
Face ’smashed’Popular blogger Jeff Ooi, one of the photographers present during the incident, told malaysiakini that he and the other injured photographer were guests of Khalid at the nearby restaurant.
The two photographers ducked into their car after witnessing a ‘mob’ trying to stop Khalid’s car from leaving the area.
Ooi said the injured photographer, who declined to be named, was later hit by a water bottle hurled through a half-open car window when trying to inch away from the venue after being surrounded.
"A person in a Pemuda BN uniform threw the water bottle which smashed into the face of my friend. The impact caused his glasses to break, cutting the area below the eye.
"It was from a close distance. We were basically surrounded… he now requires medical treatment," said Ooi.
He also claimed that a member of the mob also attempted to grab their cameras in the car but failed.
jeff ooi’s account.
bob has also posted about it and in his post, there are a few links to this same issue.
i will update with my views later on as now i’m not using my house computer.
