in what way? read this news article (highlight my own):

Bumiputras should be given priority in new sectors such as biotechnology and information communications technology (ICT), to ensure they are not left behind, Umno Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin said.

“We don’t want to see the workforce and technologists favouring only certain races in Malaysia and not reflecting the real composition of the population,” he said.

“We need to move forward and make it our priority to facilitate the creation of more bumiputras in the ICT sector.”

1. ‘bumiputera should be given priority…’. if they are given priority, this means there is no equality for the othe races, and this means other races are marginalised. see, khairy boy proves that lee kuan yew (LKY) was right.

OTOH, when he was asking that bumiputera to be given priority, he was sort of telling us that bumiputera cannot compete on thier own. great.

2. ‘… favouring only certain races in malaysia…’. ah. his favourite subject – to touch on race. he was accusing the ‘workforce and technologist’ favouring ‘certain races’ – wasn’t that a racist comment?

wait, the best part is yet to come. he then said:

“We do not want handouts but the opportunity to succeed on a much more level playing field,” he said, adding that Umno Youth was happy that the Malay agenda was codified in the 9MP.

as lulu of whatalulu blog pointed out, isn’t ‘be given priority’ the same as getting handouts? one minute he was saying bumiputera should be given priority then another he said bumiputera doesn’t want handouts.

also note the use of ‘much more level playing field’. so was he implying that only when bumiputera are given priority, the field will be level? gee, what does this tells us of the bumiputera then?

oh, i’ll be damned! i just realised that, khairy, the UMNO youth deputy chief, was speaking to reporters after opening the MSC malaysian business and ideas enhancement workshops organised by UMNO Youth and the multimedia development corporation (MDeC), so he has a right to say all this lah, silly me. he wants to be a hero (and self appointed defender) to UMNO, remember? oh, and he also mentioned the never ending policy and the malay agenda.

oh minta maaf, wahai khairy (gee, i can apologise!) you are only defending and standing up for your race/religion, i shouldn’t chastise you here. sorry ah?
