all hail KJ!
first he lead a group of protestors to protest outside KLCC where condoleezza rice was, and trying to be the hero, he had wanted to force himself inside the meeting place to personally hand a memorandum to condoleezza.
then there is this so well-written letter from him direct to condoleezza. wait a minute… it is not so well written when he used “the malaysian people” (did that in the protest too). oh, he was speaking up for you and me? KJ, thank you but no thank you. please speak for yourself (or for you and UMNO).

careful…. something’s brewing
whoaa!! something’s brewing? interesting. let’s wait and see.
Police are investigating several websites which allegedly carried inaccurate and speculative reports on the pepper spray incident involving Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on Friday.
ahh. luckily i have not blog on the old man pepper sprayed incident.
however, as deputy internal security minister datuk fu ah kiow had said that action would be taken against website owners if they had breached the sedition act, i suppose it serve as a warning to the rest of us bloggers (at least those who blog on socio-political) to be careful with what we blog on.

to be a milliionaire
ok as today is sunday, no heavy posts from me. yeah no article 11 talk. today i’m going to post a joke i received via email (no source mentioned).
==========
TO BE A MILLIONAIRE
A jobless man applied for the position of “office boy” at Microsoft. The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test. “You are employed.”
He said.” Give me your e-mail address and I’ll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start.”
The man replied “But I don’t have a computer, neither an email.
“I’m sorry”, said the HR manager, “If you don’t have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn’t exist, cannot have the job.”

LOL at the protestors
hahahaha…. continuing my laughter from my previous post. it amused me so much to see those who are against the article 11 forum… which is a forum on freedom of religion under the federal constitution and NOT about the IFC. it amused me so much because of the reasons they gave, especially that part on challenging and weakening islam. if you feel a mere forum can weaken your faith/religion, i really don’t know how you live your faith. if everytime a small matter pop up and you cried that you need to ‘defend your faith’, i really don’t know how you live your faith.
so come on, protest more. the more people protest, the more fun i will have laughing at them. the more it will tell on them.

first he said it’s ok, then he said stop!
first he said:
then he said:
what gives mr prime minister? what kind of leader are you? certainly not a strong and firm leader. he must have been influenced by those vocal minority who were against the article 11 forum. too much pressure on him. he then had to kow-tow to them to show he is also a champion of islam.
might i remind him again if he wants to stop the article 11 forum, then he should also stop the forums that are being planned by the muslim youth movement. they are going to organise a series of forums to spread the message to muslims on the need to ‘defend the faith’.

press statement from article 11
Press Statement
Article 11 Unrelated to Inter-Faith Commission
A press statement by Article 11, a coalition of Malaysian NGOs committed to upholding the fundamental rights of all Malaysians regardless of religion, race, descent, place of birth or gender.
Article 11 is very concerned that the Prime Minister’s statement reported in today’s press, calling for a halt to Article 11’s public forums, is based on the widespread but mistaken belief that the coalition’s activities are aimed at reviving the initiative to establish an Inter-Faith Commission (IFC).

article 11 is NOT about IFC
just a quick post to direct you to ktemoc’s blog where he had pointed out two news from malaysiakini. one, the article 11 coaltion organisers wants to meet pak lah to clear up accusations linking its public forums on constitutional rights to a proposed advisory body on interfaith matters (that is IFC - interfaith commission). two, a MCA MP had spoken up to question why should the forum be stop.
watch this space. i will post up the two news report later.

“a disruption by any other name” (aliran)
(click on more to read 2nd update where just as pak lah call for a stop to the article 11 forum, the muslim youth movement is plannning a series of forums.)
read the report on the recent article 11 forum in johor by aliran at aliran website or at beritamalaysia. the latter has other news, including this news which was from malaysiakini:
Two PAS leaders and an ulama (Muslim religious scholar) will be charged with illegal assembly for allegedly participating in a demonstration against a forum on the freedom of religion by Article 11 in Penang.
The PAS leaders are its Bukit Bendera deputy chief Abdul Rahim Ismail and its state deputy youth chief Hafiz Nordin. The ulama was identified as Shauhul Hamid.
now that we had the 3 persons charged, will the police allow article 11 forum to be re-convened in penang? by all means, the protestors are welcome to protest… but let it be a peaceful one… and legitimate! they should seek police permit first for the protest, then they are welcome to show up with banners and slogans BUT, most importantly, to allow the forum to go on as schedule (no cutting short the time) AND not to disrupt the forum by heckling or whatever.
UPDATED: very disappointing headline greeted me in the morning - our PM cried “stop the forum!”. strange… like the rest, he said this forum is about the interfaith commission (IFC). the organisers of article 11 had expressed so many times this has nothing to do with IFC. this is about the federal constitution - protection for all.

if your child steal, you as a parent will be booked?
it seems that the police is contemplating to introduce a new law that will hold parents and traders responsible for the crimes committed by juveniles. you know, crimes like
vandalism, gambling, smoking, improper public conduct, truancy, an age limit for entry into entertainment outlets, and abuse of online and wireless applications.
the last one there is particularly interesting. ‘abuse of online and wireless applications’? you mean like blogs?
the police said that by introducing this law, they coucd book entertainment outlet operators if underaged patrons were found in their premises or arrest traders who sold cigarettes to underage children.

my apology
with regards to the comments from the post below ‘let the pictures speak for themselves’, i realised that these pictures are fake so i would like to extend my apology to anyone who think i am posting it up to demonise islam. no, it was not my intention at all. as i had said i received them via emai, so all the pictures and the text too were from email… just copy them en bloc. since shagadelica in the comments had pointed out to check with snopes.com… and i did (here), i am now offering my apology for posting up those pictures. i will take them down now but leave the comments on.
