current PM betrayed ex PM (so says the XPM)
Post on Jun.08, 2006
PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia (AP)–Former Malaysian leader Mahathir Mohamad lashed out Wednesday on his successor for reversing many of his policies, calling him ungrateful and saying he has been betrayed.
you! you betrayed me! said dr m to pak lah.
doesn’t that sound so funny to you? it did to me. why shouldn’t pak lah reverse the old man’s policies? pak lah is the PM now so it is up to him to run the country how he wants. the old man continue ranting:
Having chosen him as my successor, I expect a reasonable gratefullness.
how reasonable is reasonable? what does he expect pak lah to do/act to show his gratefullness?
oops. it’s past 2.00am… my bed time, no time to further comment on what the old man had been criticising the present government so much for…. except to say to him “now you know. padan muka.”
continue reading another report (from biznews too) on ‘mahathir pours everything out on relations with government’.
in the meantime, read also famous satire blogger tv smith on dr m vs pak lah.
UPDATED:
seems that all the major paper highlighted dr m’s criticism at pak lah and mentioned BN leaders backed pak lah.

the NST: dr m hits out again: there won’t be a confrontation

NSt eadlines 2day..
Almost expected it to happen.
Question may not be who’s right,
but how much each side is saying is actually true.
lucia: yes indeed. so we have to keep wondering….Â

maybe he is really getting senile and starting to act like a child throwing a tantrum when people don’t agree with him.
lucia: maybe so… but let’s give him the benefit of doubt… he could be right at times!Â

reap what u sow?
lucia: er… maybe so… but er… i do agree with some of what dr m said.

Whatever happened to bowing out gracefully?
lucia: he did… but then with things that popped up… he just had to say something.Â

Neither side can be expected to speak with a large measure of truthfulness or clarity when there are big business stakes implicated and associated with it. The ‘betrayal’ said has to be considered in that personal light and not wrt that of ‘the ‘people’. The MSM is expected still to continue to report in half riddles.
M is mad with the cancellation of the crooked bridge, e.g., something which the people really aren’t interested in. The less than total mollycoddling of cut-throat Proton car industry today has to be another of those sore points for him.
It can hardly be a pure coincidence that the sacking of the ex-TNB’s chairman, Ani Arope, and the story behind that has recently been carried in the Star. Of course the matter was already well-rumoured then and no secret how some IPPs were connected. IOW his price gourging policy is now being used to finger him.
Guess he can’t bow out gracefully when a big time turf war is involved.
lucia: true. with so much happening that involved him, he just can’t keep quiet. i guess that’s er… normal.Â

KJ must be worried that the knives are out, drawn out by the Tun. If AAB falls, he is out. This time, no reconciliation, a fight to the bitter end. Both the camps must be out counting their allies, I personally feel that the Tun is orchestrating the fall of AAB. This is possible attempt for a later coup in Umno.
lucia: that’s what razaleigh hinted at too – a coup. well… let’s wait and see. as for KJ, i don’t think he need to fear yet.Â

When the gajah’s berjuang/bertikam sama sendiri(?) the semut/rakyat would be burden with the `big foot’ deaths (big hikes in oil, electricity) and `big noise’ slaughters (big dramas -good to distract the people from real problems of everyday’s living ?). It would be a challenge for people not to get drawn into defending either camp, where both are involved in causing the burden to the people in the first place. The difference could just be where the goodies go to ! The only benefits from the fight could be the `dirt’ which get exposed inadvertently about the government !
lucia: agree. actually we can’t really say which side is wrong or right but you are very right on target as regards to the more spat they have, the more dirty linen will be washed in public. good for us!Â

lucia: well as long as he is alive (life) and alive (mind) he will continue making headlines i guess.Â
