today is good friday, where we commemorate jesus’s passion and crucifixion.
it is a public holiday in many christian countries. well, our neighbour down south too has good friday as holiday. don’t look that far. good friday is a holiday in sabah.
in my office, we have 1/2 day off (afternoon) – apparently letting us off to attend the good friday service. i’ll be very busy in church. gotta do the reading, then maybe help with the transparencies.
to all christians, wishing you have a meaningful good friday celebration. remember, good friday is NOT a day of mourning. it is a day of celebration – celebration of jesus redeeming us through his death.

Have a good Good Friday, Lucia!

I met a consultant from Romania this afternoon and strangely was preceived by a greeting of “Robert, good good friday to you.” The first time I heard this kind of good friday greeting. Infact I oso don know how to greet people on this day. I used to say “happy good friday” or “have a nice good friday.” Is that the right manner!
lucia: good friday is not suppose to be like christmas and easter where we need people to wish us. i believe there is no such thing as having a ‘good, good friday’ or a ‘bad, good friday’. good friday is a day for us to remember jesus’ passion and death, that he died to save us. it is also a day of fast and abstinence. it is a day of religious significance, a day of prayer and contemplation. thus i don’t see the need for people to wish us happy good friday (or whatever).
