remember the ‘tak nak’ anti-smoking campaign? when it was first launched in february last year and i blog on it, somebody (in fact i think more than one person… not necessarily in my blog) mentioned that this campaign will not be a success… and true enough.

the new strait times (NST) on 23 aug. reported that the campaign had failed. it came straight from the horse’s mouth – the health minister, dr chua soi kek said that until today there was no indication that the number of smokers had gone down.

well, 5 days ago, i had just blog on smoking with the heading ‘i ‘nak’ because i can sue’, touching on the government’s move to allow smokers to sue cigarette’s companies for ailments they suffered as a result of smoking.

do you know that RM20 million had been spent on the ‘tak nak’ campaign? gosh, all those millions washed down the drain like that. oh! not the drain… but the pockets of advertisers and some business people!
