down with smoking!

whoa! i welcome this news indeed – ministry may make smoking occupational safety issue. hopefully it will be implemented. after all, we all know the dangers of smoking, and do you know, the latest research into smoking reveal a shocking fact… that smoking is to be blame for 10 types of cancer.

some of you might remember my post on smoking, touching on the government’s launched of the ‘tak nak’ campaign. there, i had mentioned i’m anti smoking and gave one main reason why so.

just last week, in our weekly catholic paper, there was a letter from someone writing in with the suggestion that smoking should be ban in church (whether during mass or at meetings/conferences). of course i support the idea, and i would like to add too that they should ban the use of handphone! i had blog so many times before (eg here and here) how i was so irritated at those stupid no manners people who answer the phone during meetings! grrr!! ok not to digress about using of handphone, back to smoking.

of course i know, whatever shocking facts were revealed about smoking, we’ll still see people smoking away like nobody’s business because they will say “it’s my funeral, not yours.” or “smoke first, die later” (my version of dr liew’s famous phrase ‘eat first, die later! haha!). of course. this is a free country, man. smoke all you want, just don’t intrude into my space.
