threat from a minister?

the closure of the kepong flyover (otherwise known as MRR II – middle ring road II) due to cracks seemes to be a hot topic now. Initially i do not want to blog on it as i see a few bloggers had already blog on it, notably jeff ooi of screenshots, who made several posts on this topic. however i have the strong urge to blog on it when i was stunned at what our ayo-yo samy had to say when the ACA (anti corruption agency) decided to investigate the construction of the flyover.

“anyone who would like to investigate can come forward, our doors are always open. they can come, take the documents and after that, we will just stop all the repair works,” he said.

isn’t it obvious? look at “… and after that, we will just stop all the repair works.” obviously sounds like nothing but a threat. fine, the samy guy said, sure, ACA can investigate, but when ACA start investigating, we will stop the repair works. why? the investigation and repair can’t go on at the same time? does he mean to say while the investigation is going on, no repair works at all will be done to the flyover… thus motorists are running a risk bypassing that area? or while the investigation is going on, motorists have to be contended with traffic jam when the road there is closed? thus if the public motorists have to be inconvenienced, he will blame it on the ACA investigation?

it is really silly for one to think that repair works on the flyover CAN’T be done at the same time the ACA investigation is going on. any good minister who have nothing to hide, would welcome the investigation and at the same time let the repair works be carried out. the repair work has to be done, no matter what, right. whatever the outcome of the investigation, the works must go on, right. why does samy wants the investigation to be over and done with before continuing with the repair works? he knows everybody are of course pushing for the repair works, and thus threaten that if ACA comes sailing in, he would order a stop to the repairs… and the poor motorists at around kepong area suffered! hmm… should we be surprise at the threat? many of us are already aware that samy always have with him 2 bodyguards (who will usually threaten people when they want to ‘side’ their boss). it looks like now he himself is making a threat!
