The silent scream

THE SILENT SCREAM

I see the instrument
thrusting
towards me
I wince, Mummy!
I can feel
I am alive!
But still
the instrument
thrust forward
pulling my leg
I let out a scream
a silent scream
as the instrument
pulls, tears
parts of me
and finally
crushes my head…
and…
silence
I’m your child, Mummy
why are you doing this?
you gave me life
joyfully
Now,
you take my life
mercilessly
Why, Mummy?
Did I do something wrong?
(note: i wrote this poem after i watch a video of the same tittle, about abortion. i was so moved seeing the babies that were killed, seeing parts of babies being thrown away in buckets, that i came up with this poem. it was published in the star paper.)
