hurray! my ‘baby’ is back!

yippy! at last i have my PC back. it’ll be back to normal for me – blogging, visiting blogs and commenting, sleeping at 2.00am. you know, past weeks, without my baby, i had been sleeping so early… at midnight or before 1.00am.

my PC is almost like new now… because it has a new motherboard, new hard-disk and new OS. motherboard, of course must be new one since it was the old motherboard that was now working. my old HD is only 10.2 GB. now i have a whopping 40 GB HD. and thank god, i don’t have to pay for it. my brother said he has one of this ‘lying around’. oh, it’s a good thing, it was my brother who ‘cure’ my PC for me because i save up on service charges! all i did was pay for the motherboard which was at RM200.

i asked my brother to install winXP for me as i was earlier using win98, and it seems that lots of programs/tools can’t be use with win98. e.g. the new handphone i bought that comes with a CD requires winXP or win2000 to run it. but i’m not use to using winXP and it is a bit confusing for me. esp. now that having a new HD, my brother did copy my data and also programs from my old HD to this new HD, and there seems to be so many drive partition which gives me a headache. luckily i still have my data with me. though i see my program files (from my old HD) were copied to the drive but i can’t open/access the programs.

my PC processor is still the same old one of course – pentium III 667EB… quite a dinosaur by now eh? so i guess comes sept. this year when i get my insurance money, i must buy a new one. at the moment, i’m quite happy with the present set-up.
