47 years ago, this man shouted “merdeka!merdeka! merdeka! merdeka! merdeka! merdeka! merdeka!”

this man was our first prime minister, tunku abdul rahman putra al-haj (1903-1990), known as the ‘bapa kemerdekaan’ or the ‘father of independance’.

our second prime minister, tun abdul razak hussein (1922-1976), known as the ‘bapa pembangunan’ or the ‘father of development’.

our third prime minister, tun hussein onn (1922-1990), known as the ‘bapa perpaduan’ of the ‘father of unity’.

our fourth prime minister, tun dr mahathir mohamad; you had seen enough of him, i don’t think you would want to see him again here. he is known as ‘bapa pemodenan’ (father of modern? father of new age? modern father?). hmm… do you think that title bestowed on him is justified? i had better not ask you guys to come up with suitable ‘bapa’ title for him as i know there’ll be a plenty. 😉

our fifth and present prime minister, datuk seri abdullah ahmad badawi, you’ll see him now and then, here and there, so i don’t think you don’t mind not seeing him here. will he be known as ‘bapa’ something?
