athens2004

the logo (or rather emblem, as the site refers it) for athens2004 is as above, which is said to be a wreath made of olive tree branch.

now i wonder is this the ‘crown’ for the winners also made of olive tree branch? and having seen the er… flowers?… being presented to the winners, it looks like a bunch made up of olive tree branch too, with… er… not so sure… but maybe some kind of flower in the centre. er… before i knew about the logo which is a wreath of olive tree branch, i didn’t know what the heck the crown and the er… ‘green bunch’ are, but i thought it is quite creative of the organiser to give this instead of the conventional bouquet of flowers.

any of you interested in watching the olympics games? which sports are you most interested in? i like to watch gymnastics – both men and women. i enjoy watching all the categories (are they refer to as categories or whatever) e.g. bar, beam, horse, ribbon. watching the athletics performing on the beam always made my heart goes beating fast as i was so scared they might fall.

i also like synchronised swimming and really admire the swimmers how on earth could they ‘dance’ so beautifully in water. i’m quite amused though seeing thier faces with er… what’s it call huh… clip to their nose. normal swimming is not a bad event to watch too. oh i also enjoy watching the track events.

at the time of writing now, USA seems to be ahead of china in gold medals by one only. however for total medals, USA has 73 while china has 52. do you think by the time the olympics is over, china will take over USA as the champion? this reminds me of my late father, who i suppose being a true chinaman at heart, he like to root for china to win in whatever games/events. even for the thomas cup between china and malaysia, all of us will be rooting for malaysia while he alone rooted for china. ahh… i have lots of memories of my father. someday perhaps i will blog about him, especially about the stories/legends from china he shared with me.
