one man’s opinion doesn’t reflect the whole vatican
i am prompted to blog on this matter after reading the blog of viewtru.
some of you might notice in the star paper of 17 dec. a report was quoted that a top official cardinal from the vatican, renato martino had said this of saddam hussein: “i felt pity to see this man destroyed, [the doctor] looking at his teeth as if he were a cow. they could have spared us these pictures.”
well, it seems that from the cue there, some people took the opportunity to bash the vatican, and worst of all, to dig out the ‘past sins’ of the vatican. what to do… some people just enjoy bashing, just like many who like to bash the US of A (looking to US as ‘the great satan’). bash the US? well well, don’t you know that was exactly what the cardinal was doing… according to deal hudson from crisis magazine.
please bear in mind that what cardinal martino said was his own personal opinion. he was not speaking on behalf of the vatican.
i reproduce here what deal hudson from crisis magazine had to say regarding this matter. sorry i can’t post the link as the site is not updated (until 7 dec only i notice). i receive this via e-letter which was dated 17 dec.
