anyone for a spooky tour?
have you heard, someone had started a spooks tour to offer malaysians and foreign visitors a glimpse into KL’s surreal side — with the tantalizing prospect of spotting a ghost.
this appears in CNN news dated 6 oct. 2003. hmm.. how come i didn’t get to read about it in our local media.
i would be interested to join this type of tour (though i know my family and close friends would say i’m crazy). why not when i can get the chance of a lifetime to meet a ghost. hey, i have not met any before, you know! (though i had met many of those pesky human ghosts).
i understand in england there are lots of haunted castles where one can get to meet ghosts, you know like those victorian ghosts or edwardian ghosts, and those royal ghosts too. how nice. if i’m in england, i must make sure i pay a visit to those haunted castles, and who knows i might run into marie antoneitte (?) carrying her head, or maybe even the great writer william shakespeare .
i love reading ghost and horror stories but watching them, i’m not really into it… unless it is some suspenseful movies with unexpected endings (not necessary ghosts, blood and gore type) – you know like stories from TV’s twilight zone. ah, and also stories from the master of suspense, the late alfred hitchcock. he was one of my favourite authors and if you remember, he had a TV show too call ‘alfred hitchcock presents’. many of his movies had become classic like ‘psycho’ and ‘the birds’.
i used to read true short ghost stories from penang at a site call ‘penangowl’ but unfortunately now the site is only open for members. however from there, i found one good site which talks of ghosts and hauntings.
i enjoy reading sir arthur conan doyle’s sherlock holmes stories too because quite a number of his stories are the horror types like ‘the hound of baskervilles’. well, sherlock holmes is my 2nd favourite detective. my all time no. 1 favourite detective is that little egg-shaped belgian guy, hercule poirot, creator of the late dame agatha christie. do you know i have all 72 of agatha christie’s detective novels in my collection (include other detectives like miss marple). i have also started a agatha christie’s fan club via the star but unfortunately it had become a dead club as not many people went there. (er… including me myself… oh btw my handle there is ‘sweety’!).
btw, coming back to about ghost tour, here is an interesting site which tells you about a ghost tour in south africa. ghostbus.
