shame on you, abdullah badawi!
shame on malaysia!
i weep for my country, malaysia.
malaysia is a police state.
malaysia, where human rights are trampled on.
malaysia, where there is double standard.
(and more).
yes i weep for my country.. especially after what happened yesterday morning, when police arrest 8 people (or here) during the human rights day, peaceful march.
however, what that was totally outrageous was the arrest of the bar council human rights committee chairperson, edmund bon (picture above, taken from malaysian bar – edmund is seen in the centre right, with a police officer’s hands on him)..
The Chairman of the Bar Council’s Human Rights Committee,Edmund Bon was arrested after stopping some officers from the Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL) from removing banners and placards hung on the premises of the Bar Council Secretariat about 12.15 this afternoon.
why was DBKL present there? looks like a ‘conspiracy’ to have someone arrested, to disrupt the ‘festival of rights’ activities.
my theory – the gomen ordered DBKL to be there to create trouble… so they did by trying to remove the banners and placards, knowing well someone would protest. the police then quickly moved in to arrest the one who protest. see? gomen, DBKL, police all working together.
it’s sad. 🙁 sad. so sad.
– first, bar council’s march was called off because police insisted they had to apply for permit.
– then, the venue at central market was shifted to bar council building, because again police said must have police permit.
– so come the day, some people gathered for the march… peacefully… but the police were there to kacau!
– then DBKL came to kacau at the venue, to take down banners and placards put up at a private premise!!
WHERE IS THE HUMAN RIGHTS HERE???
🙁 it’s sad. 🙁 sad. so sad. 🙁
