after machap, now ijok
macap. ijok. you know i have never heard of these town names until… well until now when the by-election was held/going to be held.
thank god for by-elections! it helped me learn of the names of towns we have in malaysia.
i suppose there are lots of small towns that i don’t know of (not heard of) but how will i get to know them? no way at all (unless i study in details a map of malaysia with town names). well in come by-elections to the rescue. not only do i know of the names but sometimes some story on the town/s too like when the paper decided to introduce to us the town/s, so give us a write-up of the town. ain’t that great?
ijok. what an interesting name. how does one pronounce it anyway? i-jok, with a distinct ‘k’ sound at the end? or even something like "i joke"?
nowadays of course lots of people are talking about the ijok election here and there and of course that inlcude bloggers. many had (and will be) blog on it. do you know that malaysiakini had started a section to feature blogs that talks on ijok? (right hand side under the ad of malaysiakini.tv). well so if you want to be feature in malaysiakini, go and blog on ijok! i guess this blog of mine doesn’t count since i’m not talking anything political about it.
oh, parti keadilan rakyat (PKR) and barisan nasional (BN), the two parties that nominates candidates for the by election have blogs of their own. PKR is using wordpress and BN is using blogger. BN using blogs? hmm… and i thought their MPs are so against blogs!
