she suffered swollen liver and her ribs were protruding
“she had a swollen liver, pale kidneys, shrunken bladder, frosted lungs, ulcers, lesions along her spinal cord, empty stomach and intestines, and her ribs were protruding and brittle.”
someone did this to her. how cruel. she was neglected and thus the above happened to her. and what did that someone pay with for such cruelty? why, a mere RM100 fine or 2 days jail. (he opted for the former).
is a life worth only RM100? even though it may not be a human life, it was a life… it was one of god’s creation.
ok, by now you should know i’m talking about the engineer who was fined RM100 for neglecting his dog.
the picture of the dog was so pitiful that i would not like to post it up here as it would disturb me greatly each time i’m reading my own blog. now, i’m not really an animal lover (i don’t like keeping pets, and i would never want to hug/carry a dog… pat it yes, but not hug) but i do feel compassion towards animals. (also one of the other reason i don’t eat any other meat except the basic 3 – pork, chicken, beef, but that is another story). hence this news greatly shocked me. do you know the owner had the nerve to say (as i qutoed from the star. wonder why this news is not availabe at star online):
“the tick infestation was a small problem and there was enough food and water for the dog, which was already old and sickly anyway.”
oy hello, my friend, mr engineer, how did the dog become sickly in the first place? through sheer neglection on your part!! and what do you mean by “sickly anyway”? oh gee, she was already sick, so it was ok to let her die just like that?
and he got away with just a measly fine of RM100. don’t you think that is too low? don’t you think the fine should be increased? if yes, then come and sign the SPCA petition to appeal the government for a higher fine.
