off to cameron highlands

uh oh, i’ll be offline again for 3 days. am going to cameron highlands… no, not a holiday… well… part holiday. it’s one of those church thingy again. am going for a ‘formation session’ ‘formation’ is our catholic term for well, seminar or convention. this time i’ll be going as members of st vincent de paul (SSVP). there will be about 40 of us from penang and a few from kedah and perak.

the facilitator will be none other than martin jalleh. remember him? the one who writes interesting, insightful articles on some of the current issues going on (e.g his recent merdeka article and the haze article). actually his session with us will be for one day only i.e. on saturday (17 sept).

well, i’ll be leaving penang on 16 sept (friday) morning. we’ll be staying at the ‘infant jesus sisters’ barre centre’. our group (SSVP) had been there once before several years back. we’ll be staying in a dormitory. not a bad place. one thing about staying in a dormitory is i am sacred of the sharing of toilets/bathrooms but in this ‘barre centre’ there are plenty of toilets/bathrooms… if not mistaken, about 20 each for men and ladies. so there will be no problem then.

on the first day (16 sept. friday) it will be sort of a free day where we will have lots of games and social activities. then it will be hard work on 17 sept. saturday when martin jalleh gave us his input… all day through. and on 18 sept. sunday morning, we’ll have some short sessions before we depart at lunch time, then off to tour cameron highlands, before returning home.

so you see, the programme is quite relaxing actually. it will be a good time for me to take a rest. we will probably be back home by sunday late evening. i do thought of taking leave on monday but i can’t since a colleague of mine will be on leave that day.

well, i’ll be back to blogging on sunday… er… monday morning, if i’m not too tired after the journey.

oops. gotta go to bed now as got to wake up at 6.00am for the journey to cameron!
