play play with your eyes

ok. since i would not be blogging for 5 days, i figure out something to keep you guys entertain.

stare at the four black dots in the center of the image for 30 – 60 seconds.
then quickly close your eyes and look at something bright (like a lamp or a window with sunlight coming through it). what do you see? you should see a white circle with an image inside it, which is supposedly to be the face of jesus (but of course we all don’t know exactly how jesus looks like – that is beside the point – now, just want to know if you did see an image of a person, who you want it to be, up to you).

well, welcome to the world of optical illusions. the above picture is just one of the many optical illusions we seen here and there. many might have come across it already as it is quite old and popular.

here’s another one, often used by motivational speakers, to drum into you that everything is not as you always see it.

look at the picture carefully. do you see an old woman or a young lady? if you look carefully, you can see both!

at a glance you see a wine glass, right but look carefully, you’ll notice two faces facing each other.

here’s a site, known as liquid generation, that have several optical illusions for you to feast your eyes on continously as you click on the ‘next’ button. watch out for the last!

finally, go to the website of michael bach for a more ‘professional’ kind of illusions (what with explanations). it is here that i learn another phrase for optical illusion is ‘visual phenomena’. sounds better eh? at least to me because i like the word ‘phenomena‘.
