sultan show his concern
it’s good to learn that regarding the news of the 4 boys who went missing at fraser hill, the sultan of pahang was there to observe the search and rescue operation.
well the boys were found alive and safe yesterday, and the sultan was heard to say “i am very concerned as this happened in my state.”
it’s nice to know we have such a concerned sultan who took time off to observe the search and rescue operation and to offer words of encouragement to the boys’ family. if only more VIPs are like him.
do you know the rescue team consists of the famed senoi praaq trackers, police VAT 69 commandos, air force commandos with night-vision goggles and local residents? and was it the famed senoi praaq trackers or the commandos who found the boys? no. it takes an orang asli… no need to be famous, no need to be a commando, no need to use high tech or sophisicated equipments, you can trust the good ‘ole orang asli because they are the ones who are familiar with the jungle.

no one knew the area better than them (the orang asli).
KUALA LUMPUR, June 10: An informal request for help by a non-governmental organisation (NGO) to Kuala Kubu Baru State Assemblyman Datuk Ch’ng Toh Eng led to the eventual rescue of the four boys missing in Fraser’s Hill since Monday.
Although about 120 people were involved in the search, it took the skills of four Orang Asli to locate the missing boys and bring them to safety.
When contacted yesterday, Ch’ng said he received a call from a World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Malaysia representative on Monday, asking whether he knew of anyone who could help with the search effort.
“I thought of my Orang Asli constituents in Pertak, Kuala Kerling, Buluh Telur and Kampung Tun Abdul Razak”.
“No one knows the layout of the land better than they. If anyone stood a chance of finding these boys, I was certain that it was them,” he told The Malay Mail.
Ch’ng then contacted Rapi Bata, an Orang Asli who is also the Kampung Tun Abdul Razak Umno Youth chief, who agreed to organise a search party.
‘Although I was unable to make it to Fraser’s Hill due to pressing matters, I was frequently updated on the search by Rapi.” he said.
Ch’ng said he was relieved after being informed by Rapi that the boys had been found. – By NAJMUDDIN NAJIB
