project petaling street, described as ‘a blog-tal aggregating content from a cross section of malaysians being malaysian.’ will be celebrating its 2nd anniversary on 23 june. there will be a gathering on 23 june (hope the date is confirmed?) but we are yet to know the venue and time. most probably, if i can manage to obtain leaves from work, i will be able to attend the birthday bash. i have not met any KL bloggers before (or for that matter, bloggers not in penang) so it would be good to meet some. oh, i did met jeff ooi once but that was way way back before he started blogging…(knew him via beritamalaysia newsgroup) so i guess it doesn’t count?

as part of PPS birthday bash, the organizers will be coming out with PPS t-shirts. another activity is the ‘PPS annual blog award’. bloggers can start nominating their favourite blogs. nomination dates are from 16 may to 1 june, and voting booth will be open from 2 june to 17 june. there will be sponsored prizes for the winners.

for blog of the year i had nominated viewtru and lone. i remember when the 2005 webblog award was on, i nominated viewtru for the most humorous blog and his response was something like this “i blog for fun, for myself. i don’t care about any award.” well i guess he will say the same thing when he learned i had nominated for him… or will he? well viewtru, of course we all don’t specifically blog just to get an award but i’m sure that bloggers will agree that once in a while, it’s good to feel appreciated, so when people nominated you, just shut up and thank the person! 🙂 we want to show our appreciation how much we enjoy reading your blog so we nominated you.

now why do i like viewtru’s blog? of course, he talk about sex a lot… er.. oops. wrong guy. that will be the hustler. what i mean is he thought about sex a lot and his posts were usually filled with sex/porno innuendos, and the the way he put it, you don’t feel it is offensive or obscene. er… your mind has to be a little like the sewer water to get what he meant. he is famous with his ‘5star report’ and ‘lai ma’dispensing wisecrack advice.

why do i like lone’s blog? completely different from viewtru, his is a very serious blog. he blogs on political, social and current issues. usually his posts were very detailed and informative. he took the trouble to look up articles here and there and have many links up. though he offer his own view, most of the time his views were non committal and he leave it to his readers to judge. i wish i can blog like him!

btw, lone is one of the 4 bloggers who inspire me to start blogging. who are the other three? take a look at my post ‘the why and how part II’.

for neophyte blog of the year, i nominated percolator of the mudpond. she’s new… started blogging at end of march this year. she’s a catholic like me and she usually has thought-provoking posts full of links, which i can relate to.

for ping of the year, i nominated petertan of the digital awakening‘s ping ‘bloggers are morons’. the heading itself made me laugh. no, at first glance it made me angry. i thought what @?%$*(!# scolding us bloggers that we are morons?? how dare peter! but when i read the post i realized what peter meant.
