penang forum report
attended the penang forum yesterday. there were over 100 people. however as expected, by afternoon, the number dwindled.
it was an interesting forum with many issues that were current and relevant to society being discussed. each topic session was given 30mins. the speakers of each topic had only 10 mins to present their talk as 20 mins were given to the floor to ask questions or make comments.
it was good to see that there were many responses from the floor. in fact the participants were so enthusiastic that many got carried away and spoke longer than they should. the moderators had to remind them to be brief.
anil netto was the moderator for the last session. he blog live while at the forum! you can read about the forum at his blog here, thus no need report from me. 🙂
just wanna highlight one point from speaker lim kah cheng who spoke on the disabled. she ended up with this, which i thought was very striking.
"there are only two groups of people – the disabled and the not yet disabled."
hmm… how true. i belong to the latter but i will never know if i might end up as the former!
