board of directors for rapid penang
the board of directors for rapid penang (operation to be started in august) had been appointed.
bernama used world champ (squash) nicol david’s name to headline the news by announcing that it was nicol’s uncle, douglas david, who had been appointed as the CEO.
the announcment was made by second finance minister, nor mohamed yakcop
the others in the board are:
state assemblyman for datuk keramat ong thean lye, feputy state secretary datuk abu hassan shaari who is also state economic planning unit director, rapidKL chief operations officer mohd ali mohd nor and a representative from the finance ministry, mohd ashari alias.
rapidKL executive chairman datuk abdul rahim mokti would also serve as rapid penang chairman.
the post of general manager for rapid penang is still vacant.
well good luck to the board. hope they will see to it that rapid penang is properly run.
it was a disappointment to read thar nor mohamed mentioned that the existing bus companies can still continue with their business, which should complement the services provided by rapid penang.
excuse me? complement? but… no. 1, the existing bus services were so terrible, we don’t want them around! no. 2… with the existing buses running and rapid penang, which planned to purchase 150 new buses, won’t there be too many buses on the road, adding to the road congestion?
i had wrote about this before, which was published in malaysiakini and the star. i can’t understand why the gomen would allow the existing bus to be in operation when rapid penang take over. er… don’t tell me it is something political!
on another matter, the mention of nicol david (who, btw, is a parishioner of the church which i belongs to), you must have read already about her clinching the KL open crown, right? congrats to her!
