rules and warning – but action?

don’t worry. i am not going to complain, grumble, rant on the petrol hike. like viewtru, i can understand why the govt. need to cut down on petrol subsidy. i may not like it, but looking at their point of view, i should understand. hey, whaddya know – for once i’m pro government here. 🙂

what i’m more concerned with, is the government’s action (or inaction?) on what it said it will do with the savings on the petrol subsidy – to improve the public transport system. i hope it won’t be a case of cakap tak serupa bikin. s

another concern is of course the escalting prices of foodstuffs and other stuffs, where the government said they will take tough action against those who raised prices indiscriminately.

er… wait, let me see. in the star paper of 2 march, where we see the above headlines (warning of tough action…), there was also a report that said ‘spiralling cost forces hawkers to raise prices‘. huh? it has already begun! so what tough action?

again, the government had warned all commercial vehicles not to increase charges or they will face stern actions, like having their permits revoked. really? we all know that the government is good at setting rules/laws but not good at enforcing them, so i won’t keep my fingers crossed.
