Lucia Lai has been blogging since Sept 2003 and is still dedicated enough to blog practically every day. That is a big plus in my books. She blogs about socio-political and current issues and although her English isn’t very good, she gets the message (and her opinions) across well enough.

i guess by now you would have heard so much on the NST hoo-haa in publishing wiley miller’s ‘non sequitur’ cartoon. many bloggers had blog on it, notably of course jeff ooi, politics101 and aizuddin’s VOI. howsy of the sensintrovert also had a good round-up of the whole cartoon issue.
now, i make a comment in jeff ooi’s blog, that this cartoon was offending to the muslim. i take back my word. it was not. the reason i quickly jumped to conclusion to say it was offending was because i want action to be taken on NST… since action were taken on sarawak tribune and guangming. i don’t want to see double standard practised by the govt. i did mentioned in the comment though, that right in the beginning such harsh actions shouldn’t be taken against tribune and guangming.

Abdullah also praised Penang Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon who joined in to sit with legs folded in the mosque, listened to recitals of Quranic verses and tazkirah (short sermon) delivered by the Religious Adviser to the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Dr Abdul Hamid Othman at the official opening of the mosque, held before the Friday prayers.

whoa! kwai gia koh! (that’s ‘good boy’ in penang’s hokkien). not that i am going to praise our CM (heck, you’ll never know what was going on his mind at that time) - in fact, some might said he was just doing it ‘for show’. anyway, that’s not what i am going to point out.

ha! i knew it! as soon as news of the bird (avian) flu detected in gombak and setapak spread, this type of news will followed - chicken sales drop, or you see less people in your fav KFC restaurant, breakfast of half-boiled egg not laku anymore and so on.

what? people getting scary or wary?

what? you mean prevention is better than cure, so let’s get wary?

what? but haven’t you heard of doc’s famous line “eat first die later”? heh.

what? are you ignorant or what? don’t you know that you can’t get the bird flu from consuming cooked chicken?

… or at a disadvantage.

(before i proceed… a note to the uninitiated - guys here does not mean only the male lah but means persons of either sex.)

look… this (picture) is the corridor outside our unit… dark… taken at 8.00pm. there were no lights! of course there are suppose to be lights at the corridors and stairs but few days ago the lights were switched off by the management. why? 90% of the dwellers in our unit did not pay their monthly maintenence fee… and mind you, it is only less than RM50 (because ours is a very old flat).

no thanks, mr DPM. my faith won’t stagger just because someone publish something inappropriate about jesus christ. it’s their opinion, so what. calling for harsh action on them, would made me a laughing stock as it gets to show i’m not strong in my faith.

ok guys, ligthen up on a sunday. let’s steer away from talk of cartoons (the non funny kind) and/or the old new cabinet (not the one you find in your kitchen/office) for today and laugh along with things your mother taught you when you were small. let’s see how many of these in the list you can relate to.

the fat lady in the cabinet is apparently gloating at us with her:
“even if they talk until they foam at the mouth, if god says you stay, you stay.”

wow. this isn’t the first time she’s using god’ name, you know. i think during the AP controversy, she was also using god’s name too… with the koran in her hand, saying something like she swear by god’s name that she did no wrong. another incident she used god’s name which i remember clearly was at the height of the anwar saga. when anwar accused her of corruption, she became mad like a wild bull and shouted “in god’s name, i will never forgive him (anwar).”

first it was the china press (re: squatgate scandal). then the sarawak tribune. and now guang ming daily. yep, after sarawak tribune had been suspended indefinetely, now guang ming daily had been suspended two weeks. gosh. the gomen is really super sensitive… AND double standard - tv3 which showed the cartoons were not touched… AND hypocrites - an arab paper had published the cartoons right on front page and inside (and during the holy month of ramadan), no hue and cry from them.
