ok ok, i ought to have put in two inverted comas for the sick in the heading above - beware! ’sick’ people in the hospital.

who are these ’sick’ people? the voyeurs! they secretly took pictures of female patients in various state of undress or answering nature’s call in bed. thanks to them, visitors to hospitals are not allowed to use handphones.

picture shows the plum blossom tree, made of beads by my mother. (reference post - where i mentioned other stuffs made of beads by my mother.) this is one of the must-have decoration during CNY, though not necessary, just like having pineapple at home, not everyhome have it.

i’m sure many of you would have received CNY greetings via sms, right? how many? any interesting ones? i received 12, and there was one i didn’t know who the sender was! one was a picture message and it had a nice (but very small) picture of fire-crackers and ‘chai sin’ (the lucky god) flanked by some chinese characters. well, i would like to share some interesting ones here. some of you might have received the same.

ah, so this is the ‘chai’ (door banner) that i mentioned about in this post, now hanging in front of our door. it is not very clear since the grill door is blocking it but you already have a good look at it at that earlier post of mine, which incidentally until now, i have nobody to translate the chinese characters for me yet.

ok, so yesterday, the eve of CNY, we had our steamboat reunion dinner. 7 of us - my mother, my sister, my brother and his wife and two children.

keong hee huat chai’ is the hokkien equivalent to ‘gong xi fa cai’. since i’m in penang and uses hokkien all the time (though i’m hakka), it’s only appropriate to wish you all in hokkien, and oh well, also the universal language…

ok, everybody, let’s all together sing the popular ‘gong xi, gong xi’…. in english! yep, that way, more people will be able to sing it.

ok, CNY mood so no serious post. something to share instead for today.

don’t you just love these cute dolls? they are made by my mother from beads. well, not the doll itself of course - the dolls was bought. i mean the dresses of the dolls.

my mum made a a lot of things from beads. below, here you see, from left to right - keychain in shape of mouse, er… maybe a little bird? and a swan. there are also keychains in the shape of other small cute animals. she also made purse with beads, and i’m using one to hold my 3 sets of keys. you can see the purse at the post where i show the contents of my handbag.

okie dokie! so we had settled on the details, which are:

yeah, so how about it, guys?

we can pick any of those 15 days in CNY. to make it more fun and more private, we could have it at someone’s house… provided if we have people who are willing to open their house for the gathering.

you see, this idea came to me, after vincent from penang podcast email me asking me if there is going to be any bloggers meet coming up, particularly during CNY. he would like to join us!

i really don’t know i should laugh my head off or hang my head in shame. we all still remember the squat-gate scandal, right? where seputeh MP, teresa kok was the one who exposed the now infamous video of a lady doing ketuk ketampi in a police detention room.

she showed the video to the other cabinet ministers after a cabinet session and thus opened the eyes of the public to the method/s the police do body search on detainees.
