christmas musing
picture shows the christmas tree in our church office (church of our lady of sorrows, macalister road, penang). it’s a very tall one… think 8 feet6 feet. we have another one, 3 feet tree, inside the church (back of church – at entrance). of course inside the church, next to the altar is also the crib, which was done by the youth group. the last time i was in church, it was not fully completed yet so i did not take a picture of it.
today and tomorrow i am on leave but will be back to work on 27 dec., though from 27 dec. right to end of the year, in our office there will be only one colleague and i working! all the others will be taking thier one week christmas leave.
yesterday i went to watch the operafest children’s choir in action. it was organised by the society of st vincent de paul (SSVP), conference of the assumption. (my conference. ‘conference’ means sort of like branch, so it is the SSVP of the assumption church).

the performance by the operafest choir yesterday was indeed superb. it’s a pity not many malaysians know how talented they are. it seems they are more well known internationally than in our own country!
(picture here shows the operafest children’s choir singing ‘auld lang syne’ as the closing number.)
as i blog here, i had wanted to get a small xmas tree… but it looks like i won’t be getting one this year. many weeks ago i saw one white tree which is very lovely – said to be the latest design, no need decoration… just lights will do (around RM29). the tree close just by pushing down its top like a spring. if only i get it at that time… but i dilly dally and by the time i went back to get it last week, it was sold out. then 2 weeks ago i went to prangin mall and found the normal xmas tree at only RM8.90. bought it then bought the decorations that comes to RM20 and just as i was about to pay for it, the staff told me the tree’s leg is broken already and they had repair it with a tape. huh?? broken? how to use it… esp when i want to use it every year. so i did not buy the tree but just bought the decoration. big mistake. shouldn’t have bought the decoration too. now i go round searching for a 2 feet tree, couldn’t find one at all! what am i going to do with the decoration then? well, it’s either i try again looking around for the tree or buy the RM29 one (which will leave to waste the RM20 decoration).
anyway, at the moment, here is the simple decoration we have in our house… the crib, surrounded by snowmen candles. i have blog about the crib here. last year i also talk about christmas carols and my christmas musing last year!
oh well, since everybody had been wishing each other already, i might as well start now too. usually i will only start my wish on xmas day itself. well, i will still have an xmas wish on the day itself anyway.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS to all!
