no public holiday in between the 2 festive occasions

so to all you working people, are you going to take leave on nov 2? if you want to get one whole stretch of 6 days off, you had better apply for leave on nov 2. since we had been told that there nov. 2 will not be a public holiday.

well, maybe if you have some exciting plans like going for a holiday to europe during those period, you would wanta 2 nov. off.

i guess many people had plan for holidays either overseas or local during the deepavali/hari raya puasa stretch. well, since i am not loaded enough to travel overseas, i do want to travel within the country, or even to go to some resort areas or some popular spots, BUT i hesitate to do so. why? simply because everybody would be doing the same thing as i plan to do and the placed would be very congested!

oh no, i had learned my lessons not to go on a holiday during long stretch of public holidays. once during the merdeka holiday which falls on a weekend, i went to the taiping zoo, and oh boy, there were so many vehicles heading there and we were caught in a terrible jam.

then once i went to genting highlands during agong’s birthday, and the place was jam-packed with people. i could hardly move.

coming back to nov. 2 not being a public holiday, nov. 2 is the day after deepavali, right? why – i think this had been bought forward before – why is it that the chinese has 2 days holidays for their chinese new year and the malays has 2 days too off for their hari raya puasa but for the indians, they have only 1 day off for deepavali. it isn’t fair, isn’t it? why that semi value guy didn’t make noise on this matter?
