We would like to extend this invitation to you, especially those involved in ministry work that requires dealing with people who may require counseling. The talk will help you recognise quickly suicidal tendencies and take the appropriate measures that may help save lifes.
Are you able to recognise if someone is potentially suicidal? What are the signs that you need to look out for? If you do recognise suicide tendencies in someone, what do you do next? Come and find out how you can help save lives, perhaps even the life of your loved ones.
*Every 40 seconds, someone commits suicide.
*In the last 45 years suicide rates have increased by 60% worldwide
*Suicide is among the top ten causes of death in every country, and one of the three leading causes of death among those aged 15 – 44 years.
* Suicide rates among young people have been increasing to such an extent that they are the group at highest risk in a third of countries, in both developed and developing countries
*In Malaysia the suicide rate was estimated at 8 per 100, 000 in the 1980s. It is now estimated to be between 9 to 12 per 100, 000.
