malaysia - developing country?
does a developing country have more than half of its states wallowing in poverty?
that’s right, seven states in malaysia - kelantan, terengganu, sabah, sarawak, perlis, kedah and perak - were found out to have a level of poverty more associated with the poorest african countries by the united nations development programme (UNDP) in a dialogue with MPs at the dewan rakyat on malaysia’s progress towards achieving the ‘millennium development goals’.
i am surprised to see perak in the list. i would have thought ipoh is a big city and well developed but i guess maybe if excluding ipoh, many other small towns in perak like slim river, tanjung malim, sg. siput, bidor, they are not as ‘rich’ as ipoh.

you must tolerate us! no question about it!
i had wanted to blog about this but seeing that politics101 had already blog on it and i had also make comments there, i’ll be doing a lazy cut and paste job instead.
it’s regarding the proposal by DAP jepong MP dr tan seng giaw to regulate the azan so that it will not be too loud. all at once all those UMNO monkeys jumped up and protested saying he was being insensitive and he should be more tolerant.

dengue outbreak and of mosquitoes

aedes, the mosquito.
(taken from astrazeneca)
it won’t be friendly when it carries the dengue virus. one bite and you will experience the symptons of dengue and if no cure is seek quick enough, it would proof lethal, leading to death.
well, today’s star latest news (at time of writing) tells us that our gomen warns of dengue outbreak! in our country… so be alert! be careful! be tidy! that’s right, you do not want to be so kind to offer a shelter for the aedes to breed in your house, do you - make sure there are no empty containers left in the open which will collect water or old tyres left in the open, where water can seep in and become a comfortable home for the aedes larvae.

what’s up? good or bad?
the consequence is beginning to show.
while i agree whole-heartedly with the opening of this article from NST ‘up to no good‘ as per here:
WHAT was striking about the removal of the inflammatory messages posted by “good man” on the blogs - and the subsequent police reports lodged against the anonymous writer - was that it was done by the bloggers themselves. Since blogs are bywords for freedom of expression, one would have thought that they would be the last place to practise self-censorship or to favour restraints. But regulating content on the Internet is what the proposed code of conduct by bloggers for Malaysian blogs sets out to do.

action that bring about lots of consequences
my post ‘good man is bad man?’ refers. sorry, i’m not through with this topic yet. here i want you to ponder on something… the comments made by some people, especially in the PPS blog.
freddie chong asked: “tell, me…. what would you do if you suddenly hear that a lot of people think that your blogs are irresponsible, and want to shut you up? think carefully about this…. there are literally, millions of people out there in conservative cultures who think that all bloggers talk too much and should be shut up completely.”
