merdeka blog & blogging in BM

FYI, if you do not know yet, danny had started a merdeka blogger project blog. basically this blog is to collect and post up good malaysian posts for merdeka. well either you write a good post something to do with merdeka or if you saw some good post on merdeka, can be posted there.

then it seems that there is also a ‘blog in BM’ campaign (banner on left) going on. some bloggers (like suanie, peter tan, sashi, kervin) had agree to blog in bahasa malaysia (BM) on merdeka day itself. well, me included too.

i figure why not. it would be a good opportunity to see how well or not well i can write in BM. haven’t done BM writing for a long long time. oh, form filling (like for mykad) excluded of course.

i notice that a few of those who respond to this campaign said that how can when they only have C3 for BM in school (me too). i was puzzled. what? C3 is not enough? to me C3 is ok already… boleh tahan. were their expectations so high that only A1 and A2 (distinctions) means they are good? anyway, during my time a C3 was consider good enough because many people did not get credit (C3 – C6) but only a pass (7 or 8). and C3 is close to A2 already, so good enough.

well, anyway, it doesn’t really matter what grade you got, it doesn’t really matter even if you write in ‘pasar’ malay, it doesn’t matter if your BM is a little rusty… as long as you do write in BM on merdeka day. i will give it a try and i have to say it may not be so good (or correct!) because as i said long time i haven’t write in BM. also, another thing is i do not have a english-malay dictionary so i can’t look up words when i’m stuck! guess i’ll cheat and use english words then.

ok dear bloggers, do give this campaign a support and blog on BM on 31 aug. 2005, ok? boleh tak, kawan? 🙂
