music tag

just because i blog much these days, rajan deem it fit to kacau me with this music meme. i had seen this meme surfacing many weeks ago (yeah it’s an old meme) and was feeling good that nobody tag me but all of a sudden, rajan got it and he choose to tag me. ouch!

now why did i when i see this meme going around wish nobody would tag me? simply because i’m not a ‘music lady’. i rarely listen to songs nowadays. well, i listen to light and easy from 7.45pm to 8.15pm everyday when on the way to work in my sister’s car. then in the office, sometimes the radio will be on, sometimes off. (we are allowed to listen to music/songs during office hours!).

lately though when i found out about the live365 internet radio, i was quite hooked to it, listening to it daily at home… but… i always choose to listen to oldies! yep, oldies in the 60, 70 and 80. i love oldies. live365 is a good online radio i won’t hesitate to recomment. you can choose any type of songs you want to listen to, and any station. then you can have your favourite stations bookmarked. give it a try. of course listening to radio on the internet is recommended for those with broadband and not those on dial-up.

ok now on the meme.

1. total volume of music files on my computer:
mp3 files? files with full songs? none. nil. i don’t see why i should keep music files on my computer when i can listen to songs on the radio and CD. oh and don’t want those music files to hog up my precious disk space! however, i do have about 50MB of mp3 music files that are meant for my handphone. many short music and very few full songs. and i have lots of midi and wave files too.. all i downloaded for use on my handphone.

2.last CD i bought:
can’t really remember as it was ages ago. maybe it was either ‘abba – the definitive collection’ or ‘bee gees collection – the record’.

3. song playing right now:
well right now i’m listening to live365 internet radio, and the song playing this moment is ‘in the summer time’ by mungo jerry. hey, it’s a nice catchy ‘beaty’ song!

4. five songs (or albums) i listen to a lot or that move me:
cut off the ‘i listen to a lot’. i’ll go for ‘that move me’.

a. child by freddy agular, a filipino singer.
i can’t seems to find this song online. i think the original is in tagalog, and the english version was translated, and don’t know was it freddy who sang the english one too? but i understand there is a malay version too.

i love this song as, well it is a moving song. each time i hear this i feel like crying. each time i came across stories of people neglecting their parents, it reminds me of this song. based on this song, i had written a poem, simply tittled ‘child’ which was published in the defunct malaysian post.

b. tears in heaven by eric clapton.
again, a sad touching song. if i understand correctly, this song was written by eric clapton himself when his son died. it was dedicated to his son. was it that his son fell from a window?

c. candle in the wind by elton john.
the new version dedicated to the late princess diana. i love this song as it is a meaningful song… and by one of my favourite singer – the flamboyant gay elton john.

d. unchained melody by the righteous brothers.
i was hooked to this song after the movie ‘ghost’ starring whoppi goldberg, patrick swayze and demi moore, played this song during one of it most tender, most romantic, most moving scene, when patrick danced with demi. ahhh…. ‘oh my love… my darling…. i hunger for your touch….. i need your love… i need your love… god speed your love to me’… ahhh… so romantic!

e. madu dan racun, an indonesian song.
i don’t know why i kept remembering this song. perhaps i find it very funny to note of ‘racan di tangan kiri-mu, madu di tangan kanan-mu’ (poison in my left hand, honey in your right hand). the song has a nice tempo though. i once even sing this song karoke style at one of our seminar gathering ‘happy hours’ time! another indonesian song that i like at that time was ‘si jantung hati ku’.

5. tag 3 persons.
er… um… i wouldn’t want to impose, and beside as i stated this meme had been going around a long time already so many might have been tagged already. hmm… let’s see… aha! i got it! i will tag those who do not read my blog! (but i read theirs!)… or the ‘big shot’ blogger (like jeff ooi) who do not have time for silly little meme like this. haha. that way, i’ll be doing my part in tagging someone. these people who do not read my blog, doesn’t see this, so don’t need to respond, but at any rate if they happen to see it, well… up to them. at my last tagging game, i tag my readers (wits0, justme, ali allah ditta) instead of bloggers but none of them respond.

ok, the bloggers i tag are:

1. sharizal 2. jasdev 3. andreas
