national anthem and email

gosh! remember all the fuss about not being patriotic enough when you do not fly the jalur gemilang? now, in wanting you to love and respect our national anthem, negara-ku, they want cinemas to play the anthem and you have to stand up and sing along.

“It’s not compulsory. The Government does not want to be regimental about it. But we are encouraging it and hopefully, it will be carried out willingly,” Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Arshad Hashim told reporters.

goodness! of all places, why the cinema? hey i pay good money to watch a movie as part of leisure/entertainment, why should i bother to sing the national anthem when i’m there?
