congrats to public bank

public bank bhd took the top spot in FinanceAsia’s malaysian component of its asia’s best managed companies 2005 poll. report from the star’s business.

i’m happy that public bank won. i know they deserve the win. well, i have accounts with public bank, and whenever i’m there, i always received good, fast, efficient, friendly service from the staff.

actually in the beginning i have accounts with standard chartered and the main reason i wanted to open an account in public bank was because i found out i can get bonuslink points for maintaining an account in public bank!

usually during office lunch hours, you’ll get to see only 2 or 3 bank tellers around but in public bank, there are quite a number of them around. that’s why we don’t have to wait so long for our turn. it’s not only my experience of waiting my turn to be serve at the counter that made me sing praises of public bank (no, i don’t work there of course neither do i have any family/friends working there), but some other experiences too. it will be too long for me to blog about them, seeing that i am long-winded. 🙂 however i do want to highlight one experience i had with a bank officer of their from KL.

i find out that i had sort of made double payment to a hotel booking (online payment) via my debit card. naturally i was worried so phone public bank and was told to enquire from KL. this man who responded to my distress was one of the nicest, most helpful man i ever came across (at least for service help via phone, i mean). when i asked his name, i was surprised that he didn’t give me his surname. he was ‘yong wah’ so he said. he checked for me, then he checked with thehotel, and when he said he will call me back, he really did. in the end, he managed to sort out everything for me. i was very grateful to him.
