earthquake again?

at about 12.10am today, as i was sitting in front of my computer, i suddenly felt the chair and the whole floor (i’m at 5th floor of my flat) shaking. at first i thought nothing of it, then as it began to shake again, i looked at my sister and asked “why is the floor shaking?” and she said yes she felt it too.

and as we were talking, the shaking went on. it was like i was sitting on a swing the chair was rocking right, left, front, back! i felt the chair and the floor shaking quite strong. it was worst than what i felt during 26 dec. last year. last year, i felt it while i was standing, and it was just feeling the building sway. this time i felt the whole floor shaking! and it went on for over a minute!

we open our front door and then we saw our neighbour also opened her door and she too said that she felt the strong vibration and it was quite bad. she said it is better for us to leave the building. i notice a few of my neighbours on same floor as me and the floors below, a number of them, all walked down the stairs too, to leave the building. most of them were in pyjamas! all said they felt the strong vibrations. we stood on the ground floor chatting for a few minutes before we decided it was safe to go up to our rooms.

i’ll be waiting for the news this morning. i’m sure there was an earthquake, possibly in indonesia again.

oh yeah, i’m from bayan baru, penang, and felt the tremors at 12.10am, 29 march, tuesday.
