all together 10 people turned up for the meet. considering good! i have no time to blog on it yet, but peter tan had already put up pictures of the meet. i had taken a few pictures too and i will put them up tomorrow. jasdev took the memory card from my digicam to upload to his laptop during the meet, so he might post some pictures too (but they will be the same pictures as mine of course since from my digicam).

ok i will blog about the meet tomorrow. now… yawn!! gotta go zzzzz

penang office for human development (POHD) had updated their website yesterday and reports of their works can be found there, of which, some i was involved in them, and had blog about them.

damn! i wanted to post this yesterday. had completed it and when i clicked on the ‘publish’ button, don’t know why all of a sudden, the page cannot load. i thought if i hit the ‘back’ button on the browser, i could get back the page where i made the post, with my posts intact but argh! no! cannot go back! then it’s already past 2.00am, so i can’t re-write what i had written. i know… i should have use notepad or something to write and not directly on blogger post page but since the post was on the spur of the moment, i did not think of opening notepad.

my second baby actually. my first baby was the casio exilim EX-Z3.

the previous phone i used was siemens S45. it is a good phone, with lots of features… some of which i have not used them. then why do i need to get a new phone? well, i wanted a camera phone, see. not that i don’t have a camera of course, as i already have my casio digicam. i wanted a camera to be with me all the time, and since i carry the handphone all the time, it is only right to get a camera phone. the camera will be more or less for emergency use only, like when i wanted to take some photos but have no camera with me or when my memory play havoc with me when i’m suppose to bring my casio exilim, i forgot!

today is thaipusam. a singapore temple website has a good description of the thaipusam festival (though there, it is spelled as ‘thai pusam’ - seperate). of course if you go to the many tourism sites, there will be some short description of the festival too since thaipusam is part of a ‘tourist atttraction’.

peter tan of the digital awakening had a successful bloggers meet in KL. inspired by this, i talked over with peter, and decided to call for a penang bloggers meet. had already email a few persons, and 3 are for it (plus peter tan too of course). the following are the details:

officers from the jabatan agama islam wilayah persekutuan (JAWI) raided a night spot, zouk, in KL on 12 jan., and on 23 jan. we heard of those being rounded up complaining on the high-handed attitudes of the JAWI officers in the malay mail. read also the news from beritamalaysia, of which there is a second article where a mother of one of the women complained.

interesting read there, especially on how the officers concentrating on the women, staring at them, making them twist and turn. so these ‘morality officers’ who were out there to keep an eye on the morality of muslims, were themselves guilty of immorality? well, staring at them lustfully and being crude can come under being immoral!
