the one year old PM
well, the media had been talking all about it here and there, and also a number of bloggers had blog on it, so i guess not to be left out, i’d better talk about it too. what am i talking about? well, none other than our PM’s 365 days. yep, yesterday was our PM’s first anniversary of being on the job as a PM.

satires
been pretty busy today so can’t come up with my own post, instead i’m going to introduce you to someone who writes pretty good satires - viewtru of stepping aside for reality blog! his latest one on the semi value guy, with a touch of shakespearean language is very good indeed. he mentioned that he got the idea to write that piece from a post i made about the ‘hantu’ not liking old samy! i trust many of you might have already read about it, but if you haven’t yet, do click on the link below to enjoy his excellent piece:

ex PM, the tun’s jaundiced view
remember my post about our ex PM opening his mouth (er… actually writing a letter) to ask the muslim of US to vote bush out? well, it looks like someone had made a good response to his letter, a columnist from daily times of pakistan, razi azmi. i am particularly amused and impressed by the heading ‘jaundiced view, prejudiced prescription’.
i also like this paragraph and am nodding in agreement with razi:
It should be mentioned that, while American Muslims continue to enjoy full rights in the US, Malaysia officially implements a policy that favours the Muslim Malays — the bumiputras (literally, sons of the soil), to the detriment of the Malaysians of Chinese and Indian origins, most of whom are third or fourth generation Malaysians. Incidentally, the policy was the brainchild of none other than Dr Mahathir himself.

the sins of blogging - part II
now, after blogging on john hawkin’s 3 cardinal sins, here are some light-hearted sins of blogging that i myself came up with. now, please these are my own personal opinion, so if you disagree, don’t hit out at me, ok, or don’t be childish to say “oh you may not like this, but many other people like it”. that is obvious of course. others liking what i don’t like doesn’t mean i shouldn’t speak up on it and pass negative remarks about it. i encountered these kind of people before. they are so irritating. even when i’m commenting at other people’s blogs, these people will come attack me with that stuff of “to you it is nonsense but to others it is not, so please don’t talk bad about it.” huh! stupid! if i find it nonsense of course i will talk bad about it. i am speaking for myself, not others. oops sorry, i digress. i should leave this for another post on irritating people. now back to sins of blogging.

street collection
well, yes for my SSVP flag day collection, i went to the jelutong market as i said i would. there were 4 of us - my sister and 2 friends and me. all 4 of us stand at different location. we were there at 8.00am and stayed till 9.30am.
i stand at a corner to ask for donations from people who passed by. of course i have to open my mouth to ask. it’s not that ijust stand there looking pretty with the box and people would be so kind to drop in donations. oh no, not that easy. i did not ask everyone who passed by though. i can tell from their look whether they can give or not. really. since most of the people there are chinese, i speak in chinese (hokkien). i said “aunty, ai tau ka chi wah lang oh?”. anyone know hokkien? can translate?

no sale/no food before 3.00pm
uh oh, here it comes… the ‘mata-mata puasa’ (fasting police officers) at it again. this time it is a ruling that restaurants owned by muslims should be open only at 3.00pm.
this ruling came from the kuala terengganu municipal council. yes, at terengganu, not kelantan.
as you can see from the article, this ruling did not went well with the restaurant owners. they were not happy over it. for one thing, like one of them said, most of his customers are non muslims, so he need to open his restaurant as he need the business.

bush the cause of tragedies across the muslim world
according to dr m, if the muslims vote bush out, it will be an ‘ibadah’ (worship) that they perform.
“Bush has shown that despite his protests, he is the cause of the tragedies in Afghanistan, Palestine and Iraq. People, including children, women, sick and disabled people, have been and are being killed in these countries who otherwise would be alive today. Under the pretext of attacking terrorists, whole towns and villages with their populations are being destroyed by rockets and bombs.”

The least initial deviation from the truth is multiplied later a thousandfold.

how true. people also say a lie that has been going round so much will become something people believe.
