47 years ago, this man shouted “merdeka!merdeka! merdeka! merdeka! merdeka! merdeka! merdeka!”

our second prime minister, tun abdul razak hussein (1922-1976), known as the ‘bapa pembangunan’ or the ‘father of development’.
our third prime minister, tun hussein onn (1922-1990), known as the ‘bapa perpaduan’ of the ‘father of unity’.

make up a story with the numbers
ok! it’s sunday! so have a laugh….
————————————
Phua Chu Kang was asked to make a sentence using 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10.
Not only did he do it 1 to 10, he did it again from 10 back to 1.
This is what he came up with……
“1 day I go 2 climb up a 3 outside a house to peep. But couple saw me, so I panic and 4 down. The man rush out and wanted to 5 with me.

tak ‘da! elek!
that’s it. no medals at all from the olympics for bolehland. bolehland tak boleh in the olympic field. and our PM lamented that our athletes failed us.
i never for a moment expect our country to win any medals anyway. the olympic is a world-class sporting event with world class champions… how to compete with them?
malaysia hope for a medal from badminton actually but the badminton team even fail to make it to the qualifying rounds (i think). josiah ng, the cyclist came close… when he was at 5th place. i guess that was about the closest our athletes get to in the olympic.

amusing prayer
remember my blog on one of the most well known and beautiful christian prayer, ‘the our father’ (or also known as ‘the lord’s prayer’
? in it i blog on how rich is the prayer and how the prayer had been modified many times to suit the present situation. actually not modified but rather ‘add on’ as the original are still there, they only add on certain prayers that ties in with the original. all these are real, serious prayer of course. however, once in a long while, we do come across people altering the prayer for some light moment, just for fun. i guess some conservative christians might not like it as they might look to it as making fun of the prayer. i guess it’s ok as it’s just for some good fun, not that they criticise the prayer… now that would be worst.

athens2004

the logo (or rather emblem, as the site refers it) for athens2004 is as above, which is said to be a wreath made of olive tree branch.
now i wonder is this the ‘crown’ for the winners also made of olive tree branch? and having seen the er… flowers?… being presented to the winners, it looks like a bunch made up of olive tree branch too, with… er… not so sure… but maybe some kind of flower in the centre. er… before i knew about the logo which is a wreath of olive tree branch, i didn’t know what the heck the crown and the er… ‘green bunch’ are, but i thought it is quite creative of the organiser to give this instead of the conventional bouquet of flowers.

i was alerted to an interesting and humouros article about the discovery of condoms at the ’sure heboh’ concert when i was at suaramalaysia blog. then later on i saw the article (english version) appearing entitled ‘condoms and the power struggle in ‘beritamalaysia’.. it is indeed a very interesting and amusing article, that’s why i’m sharing it with you. do go and read up on it!

striving for the best is patriotism
our PM, pak lah said that a person can be a patriot without having to defend the country in a war. now why didn’t he added in “… without waving the jalur gemilang about or displaying it here and there.”
well i kind of agree with pak lah. he sure make sense much more than mr bow tie (or even his deputy) who encourage you to fly the flag and put forward the ridiculous idea of closing all toll collection booth for 10 mins on merdeka dy. i suupose striving for the best to bring glory to the country include people like lennard tan who swim across the english channel at record-breaking feat?

knows
hello. back yesterday at 5.00pm. dead tired after 3 days of running around. had a good time watching the youth singing, dancing and playing games. on saturday had a nice b-b-q with chicken, sausage and lamb… oh and tiger beer too. (shhh!).
ok as i’m tired, i will just post a quotation for discussion. oh, i think more than one… quotations from the famous taoist philosopher, lao-tzu.
- He who knows others is wise; He who know himself is enlightened.
- He who knows does not speak. He who speaks does not know.
- He who knows that enough is enough will always have enough.
from Lao-tzu (604 BC - 531 BC), The Way of Lao-tzu
