first we heard of SMS being ‘haram’ (against islam), now it is TV3’s ’sure heboh’. *sigh*…. what next, i wonder.

on 27 july, the ‘national fatwa council’ had issued a fatwa that SMS is ‘haram’ (against islam) because of it contain elements of gambling and thus against islamic teachings. then on 30 july the ‘mufti council of malaysia friday’ decreed that TV3’s sure heboh concerts as ‘haram’ as they caused the ummah to neglect their religious responsibility and promoted sin among youths.

i’m sure many of you know of the mega sales carnival 2004 that is going on now (24 july to 5 sept.). so werre you caught by the sales bug and decided to shop shop shop till you drop (or decided to)? don’t. sales are not what you think they are. t

over at jeff ooi’s blog on ‘mega malaysia boleh sales’  he blog on a letter from a foreigner that appeared in NST. the letter stated that (among other things):

well well well, whaddya know… our deputy PM had called on us to come up with a tagliine for malaysia. i thought we already have a tagline… malaysia boleh! ?? hmm… it would be fun for us to see what tagline we can come up with. i’ll blog on this further… it’s late… gotta zzzzz…. will think of some real wonderful funny tagline for bolehland!

st anne is the mother of the blessed virgin mary, therefore the grandmother of jesus. she is a very much honoured, revered and worship saint not only by catholics, but non christians as well. she is well known for for granting favours/vows,  if you seek her intercession. many people who prayed to her, have had their favours granted and so they return each year to honour her more, to thank her.

went for the st anne’s feast in st anne’s church in bukit mertajam yesterday and returned home quite late. no time to upload the photos i took yet, of which i will do it, then blog on it. maybe tomorrow. in the meantime, i would like to show off my poem writing skill (or so called skill? ahem!) by giving you one of my poem. actually it was about 10 years ago or so that i was interested in poem writing and wrote quite a number of poems but i had stop writing poems then ever since that 10 years ago. i guess for now, if i really want to, i have to put on my thinking cap and think real hard to come up with one.

ok. now instead of posting some jokes or light post for the weekend, i figure i’ll do it for a monday… since to many people it is a blue monday. the first day of the week. the day back to work after having sunday off. i’m posting here again a story from the ‘traveller’s tales’ of the far eastern economic review.

btw, today you notice i’m still up late… because i am taking leave so can afford to sleep late. will be going for the st anne’s feast this afternoon. and might be going again on 1 aug. sunday. for sure i will take lots of pictures and am going to blog on it.

so they had called in dogs. i hope some muslim rescuers won’t grumble dogs are not halal and decided to abandon the search.

i just thought it might be a good idea if bloggers show us from where you penned… er… keyed in your thoughts when you blog… your work-space, you know. i’m refering more for home work-space (or office… if you blog mostly in office!)… not one of those expensive high-tech toys e.g. PDA or notebook. the space where you have your computer (and other stuffs) where you sit down to let let your creative juice flow and share your thoughts with all.

ok, i’ll show you my work-place… nothing fancyful there since i’m not a techie expert (or a ms rich lady!) therefore you’ll see i have only the basic. 

viewtru’s blog on tongue twisters prompted me to blog on the same.

i remember long long ago when i was in school, i used to enjoy tongue twisters. the 2 most popular (to me at that time) tongue twisters that i like, and can remember it by heart are the ones about sea shells and woodchuck 

1.  she sells sea shells on the sea shore.
     the shells that she sells are sea shells i’m sure.
     so if she sells sea shells on the sea shore,
     i’m sure that the shells are sea shore shells. 

see what i told you. i knew it all along you never use your brain. ok me too. well according to former federal cabinet minister, tan sri muhammad ghazali shafie, so many of us never use our brain. we don’t use our brain to follow the ‘rukunegara’, he said, when doing things. if we do, then we can be sure all that we did were on the right path.

btw, to the uninitiated, the ‘rukunegara’ or ‘the 5 principles of nationhood’ was formulated after our 513 in 1969. 513? yalah just like US’s 911, we had 513 - may 13, 1969 racial riot. see here for more details of the rukunegara.
