mixed reaction

reference my blog on whipping demos in school, it seems that the prison dept. had decided to stop their demo tour in schools after the complaint from SUHAKAM. well, not only SUHAKAM complained of course, but others too, like a psychologist, dr edward chan, who said:

“I do agree to some extent that children may view this as a message that it is okay to use similar approach on their peers to prevent them from getting involved in criminal acts,”

of course there are also some people who are for the whipping demo, like the la salle school PTA chairman, patrick augustine, who was of the opinion that this demo could put fear into ‘bordeline’ students (those between good and evil) not to stray to the evil side!
