two good ‘nay’ from the cabinet

with reference to the blog i made re: the toyo’s ‘bright’ idea of letting the rich buy low cost houses and rent out to the poor, it’s good to learn that the cabinet had disagree to his idea.

pak lah, our PM had also said that the criteria to determine eligibility for low cost houses should be review. he wants a new formula to be drawn up taking into account the total income and the number of dependants, such as parents, before deciding on the eligibility of the person to buy the house.

new formula? but hasn’t that been working already… like i said the time when my mother applied for a low-cost house? at that time, since all of us 4 children were not working yet, and both my parents income combined did not come even to RM1000 (told ya, long long ago our family was poor), my mother applied for a low-cost house under her name but her application was just pushed away… until more than a decade ago, when her children, my siblings and i were working… then the reply came that she was not eligible for the house since now her children were working. crazy eh! see, at that time, they (gomen) already did look into income and dependants.

the other thing that the cabinet says ‘nay’ to is the hosting of the 2010 asian games. i’m very happy to hear that. the cost for hosting the game would be an overwhelming astounding expensive RM1.391 billion!! imagine! cabinet is indeed wise not to support olympic council of malaysia (OCM) to bid to host the game. why i wonder in the firsts place OCM wanted to host it? show off i’m sure! bolehland seems to want to show off to the world that they can do this and that…. especially of course during our ex-PM’s time. remember the F1 sepang racing circuit? it was completed at a staggering high cost too and many people were making noises over it but our ex PM seemed to be so happy and proud of it.

with pak lah at the helm of the cabinet, i hope to see more good wise decisions made by the cabinet such as these two.
